This invention provides a method for measuring an antigen concentration in a sample, which comprises: preparing VH-domain polypeptide and VL-domain polypeptide of an antibody specific to the antigen; labeling one of the polypeptides with a reporter molecule to form labeled polypeptides, and immobilizing the other polypeptides onto solid-phase to form immobilized polypeptides; contacting the antigen-containing sample and the labeled polypeptides with the solid-phase; and measuring the reporter molecule of the labeled polypeptides bound to the immobilized polypeptides. The present invention permits simpler and quicker sandwich ELISA for measurements of an antigen concentration in high sensitivity.

A video signal reproducing apparatus plays back at a high speed a recorded signal recorded on a recording medium, eliminating noise bars in the reproduced image by replacing a noise portion, that is, a signal portion reproduced by a magnetic head having a different azimuth from the azimuth of a track on the recording medium, with a corresponding signal portion of a previously reproduced track having the same azimuth as the magnetic head. The recorded signal is a shuffled video signal having mutually adjacent lines of one field recorded on different tracks of the recording medium in a predetermined sequence. Then the apparatus deshuffles the reproduced signal devoid of noise bars to obtain a deshuffled video signal.

An optical disc drive in an embodiment of this invention monitors the power of laser light with a monitor diode and controls the laser light power based on the result of monitoring. The optical disc drive changes data transfer rate (recording frequency) depending on the disc radial position. The optical disc drive controls the gain of the monitor diode across the recording surface depending on the recording frequency. This control improves the accuracy in laser light power control to achieve stable recording operations by precise servo control.

In an optical disc device, a way of canceling a lens shift due to an electric offset of an output of a tracking actuator driving circuit is desired. A tracking servo control circuit contains a first operation mode for setting an output current of the tracking actuator driving circuit to generally zero and a second operation mode for supplying a predetermined potential to the input. An average potential of a push-pull signal detected in the first operation mode is acquired. An object lens is moved by a predetermined amount in both radial directions by changing a potential supplied in the second mode to acquire correlative relationship between average potential of a push-pull signal relative to a lens movement amount and the supplied potential. An offset amount is acquired from the potential and the correlative relationship to cancel the offset.
