    Abstract: Disclosed is a transmission having: an input shaft configured to rotationally communicate with a gas turbine engine; an output shaft configured to rotationally communicate with an aircraft accessory; and a gear system connected between the input shaft and the output shaft, the gear system including: a plurality of clutches that are axially aligned and radially offset, the plurality of clutches configured to engage in parallel the output shaft and shift the transmission to generate a plurality gear speeds; and a plurality of pistons that are configured to engage the respective plurality of clutches, the plurality of pistons being hydraulically controlled and adapted to receive fluid from a respective plurality of ports in the output shaft.

    Abstract: A hydraulic clutch assembly can include a shaft defining a shaft channel, one or more hydraulic ports defined through the shaft, and one or more lubrication holes defined through the shaft. A porting manifold can be disposed at least partially within the shaft channel. The porting manifold can include a control pressure path in fluid communication with the one or more hydraulic ports and a lubrication flow path in fluid communication with the one or more lubrication holes. The control pressure path and the lubrication path can be fluidly isolated in the porting manifold.

    Abstract: A disconnect mechanism includes an input shaft defining a drive axis. A disconnect shaft is selectably engaged with the input shaft to be driven about the drive axis by the input shaft. A disconnect ramp shaft is operatively connected to the disconnect shaft to axially move the disconnect shaft between a first axial position wherein the disconnect shaft is engaged to the input shaft and a second axial position wherein the disconnect shaft is disengaged from the input shaft. The disconnect ramp shaft includes a ramp defined around an outer surface thereof. A disconnect pawl is selectably engaged with the ramp of the disconnect ramp shaft to engage or disengage the disconnect shaft from the input shaft.

    Abstract: Embodiments herein relate to piece-part, sub-assembly, assembly, and component levels of a differential composed of a sun gear configuration and utilized in an integrated drive generator. An integrated drive generator is a hydro-mechanical transmission that drives a synchronous salient pole generator. The integrated drive generator is a constant speed output, variable speed input transmission that includes the differential and a hydraulic unit. In general, the integrated drive generator utilizes the variable speed input from an accessory gear box of an engine to drive or control a hydraulic unit, which in turn drives or controls a churn leg member of the differential. As the differential is driven, speeds of each speed member of the differential are then summed to generate the constant speed output to drive the synchronous salient pole generator.
