    摘要: An activated carbon adsorbing and desorbing evaporative fuel has pores formed therein with the following rates: a rate of a pore whose pore diameter is smaller than or equal to 20 Å in which butane is apt to remain with respect to a pore whose pore diameter is smaller than or equal to 100 Å is less than or equal to 20%, and a rate of a pore whose pore diameter is greater than 20 Å and smaller than or equal to 25 Å that is effective in adsorbing low boiling point gas components with respect to the pore whose pore diameter is smaller than or equal to 100 Å is between 15 and 25%. An evaporative fuel treatment apparatus has a filling chamber filled with the activated carbon as an adsorbent.

    摘要: A fuel vapor treatment device for suppressing emission of fuel vapor from a fuel tank or the like of an automotive vehicle. The fuel vapor treatment device comprises a casing having a charge port connected to a fuel tank, a purge port connected to an intake section of an engine, and an atmospheric air port through which atmospheric air is introduced. Fuel vapor adsorbing material is filled in the casing. Additionally, an adsorbing material cartridge is disposed in a part of the casing and includes a cylindrical cartridge main body section having a cross-sectional area smaller than that of the casing. Fuel vapor adsorbing material is filled in the cartridge main body section. Air introduced from the atmospheric air port is flowable through the inside of the cartridge main body section to the fuel vapor adsorbing material in the casing.

    摘要: A muffler for internal combustion engine houses a catalyst for exhaust gas purification and is provided with an exhaust gas inlet pipe through which exhaust gas from the engine is fed to the upstream side of the catalyst. The exhaust gas inlet pipe includes an inlet pipe section provided therein with a venturi section through which atmospheric air as secondary air is inducted into the exhaust gas inlet pipe. The inlet pipe section is extended in the direction of exhaust gas flow to form an extension pipe section which has a length of at least two times the inner diameter of the extension pipe section, thereby suppressing cutoff frequency at lower levels.
