Abstract:
An artificial sensor comprises at least one substrate, and a plurality of flow sensors disposed on the at least one substrate for providing a plurality of spatial-temporally varying signals representing a hydrodynamic stimulus. The plurality of flow sensors are spatially distributed on the at least one substrate. A processor is coupled to the plurality of flow sensors for receiving the signals and determining spatial-temporal information from the received signals.

Abstract:
A fuel level detector has a float connected to an arm that rotates a pivot pin. The pivot pin rotates in a hole in the wall of the detector, and the hole is sealed by a sleeve. One end of the sleeve is sealed to the housing of the detector surrounding the hole, and the opposite end of the sleeve is sealed around the outer surface of the pin.
Abstract:
Positional relationships are established in a process chamber. An upper electrode is configured with a first surface to support a wafer, and an electrode has a second surface. A linear drive is mounted on the base and a linkage connected between the drive and the upper electrode. Linkage adjustment defines a desired orientation between the surfaces. The linear drive and linkage maintain the desired orientation while the assembly moves the upper electrode with the surfaces moving relative to each other. An annular etching region defined between the electrodes enables etching of a wafer edge exclusion region extending along a top and bottom of the wafer. Removable etch defining rings are configured to define unique lengths along each of the top and bottom of the wafer to be etched. Positional relationships of the surfaces enable limiting the etching to those unique lengths of the exclusion region.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus are set forth for creating a Document Object Model of an XML document of predetermined type, comprising a first process for receiving and opening a compressed input file containing the XML document; a second process for opening and parsing the contents of a relationships file to create a map of name-value pairs and detecting a value for identifying the predetermined type from among a plurality of types of XML documents; and a further process for parsing data in the XML document according to the predetermined type, and building the Document Object Model.
Abstract:
A micromachined artificial sensor comprises a support coupled to and movable with respect to a substrate. A polymer, high-aspect ratio cilia-like structure is disposed on and extends out-of-plane from the support. A strain detector is disposed with respect to the support to detect movement of the support.
Abstract:
A camera has an axially moveable cylinder retaining a lens and a piezo ceramic motor for axially moving the cylinder. The motor has a piezo ceramic drive member that incrementally advances the cylinder in response to the application of an electric potential and a piezo ceramic brake that locks the cylinder against movement. The drive member and the brake are alternately energized to advance the cylinder in a series of incremental steps.
Abstract:
A vending machine cabinet is retained in a closed position by a hook that is engaged by a vertically moveable latch bar that can be latched closed without requiring a solenoid. The latch bar is moved by means of a cam attached to one of the hooks. Prior to engaging the hook, an angled surface of the cam engages a surface defined by the opening in the latch bar. As the door is closed, the cam rotates through an angle thereby lifting the latch bar until the upwardly extending finger of the hook can move through the opening of the latch bar. When the door is fully closed, the surface of the cam is moved from beneath the edge of the opening in the latch bar thereby allowing the latch bar to drop behind the hook, latching the door closed.
Abstract:
A PTC polymer composition contains: (a) a non-elastomeric polymer mixture in an amount from 20 wt % to 80 wt % based on the weight of the polymer composition; (b) a conductive particulate material in an amount from 20 wt % to 60 wt % based on the weight of the polymer composition; (c) a voltage resistance-enhancing agent that contains particulate metal oxide material in an amount from 1 wt % to 30 wt % based on the weight of the polymer composition; and (d) a polymer stabilizer that contains a thermoplastic elastomer in an amount from 1 wt % to 30 wt % based on the weight of the polymer composition.
