摘要： An openable/closable member locking device includes a mounting base, a pivot, a rotor which is mounted rotatably on the mounting base, a pair of arms, a pair of sliding pins having proximal end portions connected to the arms and distal end portions to be inserted into and dislocated from engagement holes, a torsion coil spring which rotationally urges the rotor such that the sliding pins are inserted into the engagement holes, and a lock release unit which moves the sliding pins against an urging force of the torsion coil spring such that they are dislocated from the engagement holes, and a guide portion is provided which causes the sliding pins to slide straight along a lengthwise direction thereof.

摘要： A latch apparatus includes a live bolt actuated between an extended position and a retracted position, first and second dead bolts, and a slide. The first dead bolt is positioned vertically above the live bolt and the second dead bolt is positioned vertically below the live bolt. The first and second dead bolts have substantially the same size and shape and are spaced equidistant from the live bolt. The slide couples the first and second dead bolts to each other, wherein vertical movement of the slide simultaneously actuates the first and second dead bolts between extended and retracted positions.

摘要： An emergency door opening tool set includes a screwdriver for removing a latch assembly cover plate, a second and a third tool for opening a locked door. The second tool includes an elongated bar with a mass of metal at one end thereof and an opening or recess in the shape of an outwardly projecting portion of the lock. A transverse force is applied to the elongated bar to break off the outwardly projection of the lock. The third tool includes an elongated bar, a T-shaped handle at one end thereof and a latch turning element at the opposite end. After removal of the broken off portion of the lock the third tool is inserted into the lock assembly and turned to retract a latch bolt from the striker plate. The set also includes a pouch or bag to carry the tool set.

摘要： A wedge bar locking mechanism is provided including a locking pin, a bracket and a wedge bar. In operation, the locking pin and wedge bar are mechanically coupled such that rotation of the locking pin results in translational motion of the wedge bar. The wedge bar and locking pin are received in the bracket which prevents rotational motion of the wedge bar and translational motion of the locking pin. In a preferred embodiment, the bracket has retaining tabs permanently attached or integral thereto, and extending radially inward of a longitudinal cylindrical pathway for accommodating the locking pin therein. The tabs are received within a reduced diameter portion of the locking pin to prevent translation thereof.

摘要： A fastener for a closure. The fastener has a friction joint which couples first (10) and second (23) elements such that rotational movement there between can occur. The friction joint has a head fastener (28) and a sleeve (24) to which an end load is applied upon axial movement of the fastening taking place during coupling of the first and second elements (10, 23). This end load causes the sleeve (24) to collapse. The fastener has a wedge element (37) mounted for rectilinear movement in a direction substantially transversed to the axis of rotational movement of the friction joint. A drive arrangement (35) couples the wedge element (37) with the second element (23) such that rotation of the second element (23) is translated into the rectilinear movement of the wedge element (37). A removable handle (44) couples via fingers (49) to second element (23).

摘要： A door locking apparatus of the invention is suitable for locking and unlocking a door of a dispenser and a case thereof. The apparatus includes a door lock mechanism situated between the door and the case for latching the door at a locked position, a solenoid mounted inside the door for releasing the door lock mechanism, a receiver mounted inside the door and connected to the solenoid, and a transmitter for sending an ID signal from an outside of the door to the receiver. When the receiver receives the ID signal from the transmitter, the solenoid actuates to release the door lock mechanism. Since the door lock mechanism is not seen from the outside of the door, the lock is protected from bad mischief and burglary.

摘要： A locking mechanism for securing together two separable pieces, such as two components of a spacecraft during launch. An elongated rod of heat contractible material provides a single active member which changes from a locking length to a contracted length upon application of sufficient heat to raise the temperature of the rod from below to above its transition temperature. Mounting and housing structures are provided for mounting and heating this transducer rod and an apertured member or recessed stop is provided for engaging a projecting portion thereof. Heating may be provided by redundant, electrically actuated heating coils surrounding a major portion of the rod length. At least a major portion of the transducer rod may be made of 55-Nitinol.
