    摘要： An automatic gain control device of an optical fiber amplifier that outputs a compensation signal to control a gain value of the optical fiber amplifier is disclosed. The device includes: a first optical detector for partially converting an input optical signal to the optical fiber amplifier into a first electrical signal; a second optical detector for partially converting an output optical signal from the optical fiber amplifier into a second electrical signal; a first programmable amplifier having a first gain value set based on a first control signal, the first programmable amplifier inputting the first electrical signal and amplifying it at the first gain value to output a first amplified signal; a second programmable amplifier having a second gain value set based on a second control signal, the second programmable amplifier inputting the second electrical signal and amplifying it at the second gain value to output a second amplified signal; a proportional-integral derivative (PID) for outputting the compensation signal, the compensation signal corresponding to the difference between the power level of the first amplified signal and the power level of the second electrical signal; and, a controller for outputting the second control signal to the second programmable amplifier such that it has the second gain value based on a third gain value and for varying the first gain value of the first programmable amplifier until the first electrical signal and second amplified signal become the same in power level, thereby changing the gain value of the optical fiber amplifier to the third gain value.

    摘要： Disclosed is a device for filtering out a null packet in a data stream for example an MPEG-2 TS (Transport Stream) to avoid bandwidth waste when it is transmitted to a backbone network. The device includes a plurality of receiving interfaces, a filter unit, and a controller. The receiving interfaces receive parallel data, such as DVB-ASI (Digital Video Broadcasting-Asynchronous Serial Interface) inputs as channel-by-channel MPEG-2 data. The filter unit counts the respective numbers of data packets and non-data packets of the data input from the receiving interfaces and filters a null packet in the data. A network transmission unit transmits the filtered data to a backbone network. The controller calculates a bit rate based on both of the count numbers received from the filter unit.

    摘要： Disclosed are a personal video recorder (PVR) using metadata and a recording control method thereof that facilitates the selective recording of user-preferred segments of a broadcast program in real time. The PVR includes a broadcast receiver for receiving the digital broadcast and dividing the digital broadcast program into video data, audio data, and metadata. The PVR also includes a DS analyzer for analyzing the metadata and outputting program-related information corresponding to the digital broadcast program, a user input unit for receiving recording preference information from a user for recording the digital broadcast program, a program information processor for filtering the program-related information using the user-supplied recording preference information, a synchronous buffer for temporarily storing the video data and the audio data, a recording unit for encoding and storing the video data and the audio data temporarily stored in the synchronous buffer, and a control unit for comparing the filtered program information with the recording preference information and controlling the synchronous buffer and the recording unit in accordance with the results of a comparison.

A subscriber interface, positioned in the ONU, modulates a first predetermined number of broadcasting signals selected by a subscriber among broadcasting signals received from an OLT, combines a baseband communication signal received from the OLT with the modulated broadcasting signals, and optically transmits the combined communication-broadcasting signal. A subscriber interface receiver positioned in an ONT, splits the combined communication-broadcasting signal, filters the split signals to respective frequency bands, modulates the filtered broadcasting signals, transmits the modulated broadcasting signals to a monitor of the subscriber, and transmits the filtered communication signal as a baseband signal to a communication terminal of the subscriber instead of a passband signal.
