摘要: Stented tubular grafts of expanded, sintered polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE). The stented PTFE grafts of the present invention include an integrally stented embodiment, an externally stented embodiment, and an internally stented embodiment. In each embodiment, the stent may be either self-expanding or pressure-expandable. Also, in each embodiment, the stent may be coated or covered with a plastic material capable of being affixed (e.g., heat fused) to PTFE. Manufacturing methods are also disclosed by the individual components of the stented grafts are preassembled on a mandrel and are subsequently heated to facilitate attachment of the PTFE layer(s) to one another and/or to the stent. Optionally, the stented graft may be post-flexed and post-expanded following it's removal from the mandrel to ensure that the stented graft will be freely radially expandable and/or radially contractible over it's full intended range of diameters.

摘要: The amount of electrically conductive material in the bottom floor lining of a conventional aluminum reduction cell is reduced by using a non-conductive lining material in its place. The non-conductive material separates the remaining electrically conductive regions from the sidewall linings of the cell and preferably confines the electrically conductive material to the "anode shadow" region of the cell floor. In another embodiment joints between the conductive and non-conductive regions are positioned such that they are covered by cell freeze (solid electrolyte) during operation of the cell. This prevents liquid cell contents penetrating the joint and adversely affecting the cell lining, thus shortening the life of the cell. The non-conductive material preferably comprises a particulate alumina mixture made up of large shapes which firmly compact together and smaller particles which fill the remaining voids. Optionally, the mixture may be bonded together with amorphous alumina, in which case the mixture can also be used for cell wall linings. The linings can be used in reduction cells of conventional design and reduces undesirable magnetohydrodynamic effects as well as pollution hazards caused by conventional carbonaceous cell linings.

A spring (102) urges the valve member (88) to its upward position.

摘要: In an electrolytic reduction cell in which molten metal is produced by electrolysis of a molten electrolyte, less dense than the molten metal product, the molten product metal collects at the bottom of the cell. A filter is provided at this location and is constructed from a material which is resistant to attack by both the molten metal and molten electrolyte, and which is wetted by the molten metal, but not by the electrolyte. By correcting sizing of the passage or passages in the filter molten metal product can be drawn out of the cell without simultaneous withdrawal of molten electrolyte. In the case of a cell for the production of aluminium the filter is preferably constructed from titanium diboride.

摘要: A pump device includes an axially rotating tube having an internal impeller affixed. Each opposite end of the tube has an inlet and outlet so that a powering means to axially engage the tube results in moving of a fluid. The supports or monoblocks at each end of the tube provide for sealing of the fluid passing through the tube and bearing support for the rotating tube. Quick pump disassembly and assembly and the feature of simple interchangeability of impeller types result in a variety of fluids to be pumped and fast and easy pump maintenance.

摘要: A rotary pump device includes a stator chamber with a cylindrical inner wall having intake and exhaust ports and an abutment mounted therein, and a rotor eccentrically mounted on an axial driven shaft for rotation within the chamber. The rotor keeps continuous wiping contact with the chamber wall while repelling magnets exert pressure on an abutment which maintains contact with the rotor to partition the intake and outlet ports. The repelling magnets act as a spring to assure contact of the abutment on the rotor while the pump is running or on standby. The repelling is caused by locating magnets positioned with similar facing poles in a pocket positioned against an abutment. A full intake/exhaust cycle takes place every 360° of rotor travel.

In a single abutment configuration, a full intake/exhaust cycle occurs every 360° of rotor travel.

摘要: The present concept a wet abrasive blasting system includes a splitter manifold receiving compressed air from a source of compressed air. The splitter manifold includes at least two passageways and also a manifold pre-nozzle associated with each passageway respectively. The splitter manifold communicates air through the passageways to corresponding air conduits which feed compressed air to at least two wet blasters respectively wherein the blasters each include an exit nozzle which are substantially the same or smaller in size than the pre-nozzles.

摘要: A tape-reinforced tubular vascular graft formed of sintered fluoropolymer(s), such as expanded, sintered PTFE. The graft includes a base graft and a reinforcing tape applied thereto. The tape may be spirally wrapped about the graft or spirally wrapped into a tube about a cylindrical mandrel and then applied to the exterior of the graft. Radial shrinkage of the combined base graft and tape, or of the reinforcing tape tube, renders the vascular graft subsequently radially enlargeable by more than 5%, without tearing or breaking of the reinforcement tape layer of the graft. Radially enlargeable grafts of the present invention may be combined with various types of stents or anchoring systems, to form endovascular graft devices which are transluminally insertable and implantable within the lumen of a host blood vessel. Alternatively, radially enlargeable grafts of the present invention may be implanted by way of traditional surgical graft implantation techniques, without any radial enlargement of the graft at the time of implantation, so as to take advantage of the improved strength properties and suture-holding properties of the radially-shrunken tape-reinforced grafts of the present invention.
