    摘要: A lockup clutch of an automatic transmission is controlled so that no shock is produced while the vehicle is running within a predetermined gear stage. The automatic transmission includes a fluid coupling; a lockup clutch provided in the fluid coupling; a shift selector for selecting a range; a vehicle speed sensor for detecting vehicle speed, and a throttle opening sensor for detecting throttle opening. A control unit determines a gear stage in accordance with the selected range, the vehicle speed and the throttle opening, decides a shift, produces a shifting output signal, decides ON or OFF for the lockup clutch in accordance with the selected range, the vehicle speed and the throttle opening, and produces a lockup ON/OFF output signal. An oil pressure circuit actuates solenoid valves in response to the shifting output signal and the lockup ON/OFF output signal of the control unit. The solenoid valves, in turn, control engagement and release of frictional engagement elements to achieve the decided gear stage and control engagement and release of the lockup clutch. The control unit includes, stored in memory, a lockup diagram set with an ON/OFF hysteresis area; a comparator for deciding whether or not the vehicle speed and the throttle opening, at the time of a shifting output signal is produced, are within the ON/OFF hysteresis area of the lockup diagram; and a lockup output signal generator for turning the lockup output ON if the vehicle speed and the throttle opening are within the ON/OFF hysteresis area when the shifting output signal is produced.

    摘要: This invention relates to a belt driven continuously variable transmission having a pressure regulating cam mechanism giving a pulley an axial force which corresponds to transmission torque and eliminates torque transmission by friction between a pressure regulating cam and a fixed race. The stationary sheave, whose outer surface is supported, with rotation free at a case, by a bearing and whose inner side encloses the pressure regulating cam mechanism, has a circular hub elongating axially to the back side of the stationary sheave. Therefore, torque from the engine is transmitted to the fixed race of the regulating cam mechanism through an input member, and further transmitted to the stationary sheave through a roller and a movable race of the regulating cam mechanism. Consequently, the stationary sheave is supported at the case by the bearing and the radial load does not work on the pressure regulating cam mechanism. Therefore, the axial force generated by the pressure regulating cam mechanism can be set to correspond to the torque from the engine side without getting any influence from the torque transmission by friction.

    摘要: A belt driven continuously variable transmission unit which converts the rotation of the input member by continuously variable ratios, and a gear unit such as a planetary gear unit to which the output torque from said continuously variable transmission unit and torque from said input member transmitted through a transfer unit is fed and delivered to the output member, are provided. A clutch and arresting member, such as a brake and one-way clutch are provided on the input path to said gear unit from said transfer unit. When the arresting member is actuated to low speed mode, the gear unit functions as a reduction mechanism, whereas when the arresting member is engaged to high speed mode, the gear unit functions as a split-drive mechanism which combines the output torque from said continuously variable transmission unit with the torque transmitted through said transfer unit. Formation of torque loop is prevented while combining the torques, by driving the element of the gear unit which supports reaction when the gear unit is functioning as a reduction mechanism.

The lubrication monitoring device comprises: a pair of electrodes disposed in the proximity of the nozzle orifice; a capacitance detecting portion for detecting the variation of capacitance between the pair of electrodes, the capacitance varying in conjunction with the varying amount of oil fed from the nozzle orifice to space between the pair of electrodes; and a determination portion for determining whether the oil droplet is fed at the predetermined time interval or not, the determination made based on the detection result supplied from the capacitance detecting portion.

    摘要: An automatic transmission control apparatus includes a continuously variable transmission (CVT) which, in turn, includes a primary pulley, a secondary pulley, a belt stretched between the primary pulley and the secondary pulley. The control apparatus further includes a pinching pressure generator for generating a pinching pressure on the belt, a travel environment all detector for detecting the travel environment of a vehicle, a torque variation estimator for estimating the transmission torque variation during travel, and a pinching pressure changer for changing the pinching pressure based on the estimation. The pinching pressure is prevented from constantly increasing because the transmission torque variation during travel is estimated, and the pinching pressure for the belt is changed based on the estimation. Accordingly, the torque transmission efficiency can be increased, and the fuel efficiency can thus be improved.
