Abstract: A shift control device of a vehicle including an internal combustion engine and a multi-speed transmission in series, the shift control device comprises: a control portion providing a downshift control in which an input shaft rotation speed of the multi-speed transmission is increased through a torque-up of the internal combustion engine toward a post-shift input shaft rotation speed in a neutral state where a release-side engagement device to be released during a downshift of the multi-speed transmission is released, so as to engage an engagement-side engagement device to be engaged after the shift. In the case of a shift pattern having a large internal inertia of the multi-speed transmission, the control portion controls a torque capacity of the engagement-side engagement device to a value greater than zero before starting a torque-up control of the internal combustion engine.

Abstract: An internal combustion engine and a multi-speed transmission in series, the shift control device comprising: a control portion providing a downshift control input shaft rotation speed of the multi-speed transmission is increased through a torque-up control of the internal combustion engine toward a post-shift input shaft rotation speed in a neutral state where a release-side frictional engagement device during a downshift of the multi-speed transmission is released, an engagement-side frictional engagement device to be engaged after the shift; and a torque setting portion setting a required torque of the internal combustion engine in the torque-up control of the internal combustion engine increasing rate of an actual torque of the internal combustion engine becomes smaller in the case of a shift pattern having a large internal inertia of the multi-speed transmission during the downshift as compared to the case of a shift pattern in which the internal inertia is small.

Abstract: A system includes a torque converter having a turbine, a transmission having friction clutches and an input member connected to the turbine, and a controller. The controller is programmed to control a change-of-mind shift maneuver of the transmission. By executing a method, the controller detects the change-of-mind shift maneuver, predicts an acceleration profile of the turbine for a next-requested shift of the detected shift maneuver as a function of a calibrated desired shift time and an output speed of the transmission, calculates a shift control value for a next-requested shift of the shift maneuver using the predicted acceleration profile, and executes the next-requested shift via the clutches using the calculated shift control value. The shift maneuver may be a skip-at-sync quick shift-to-quick shift or power downshift-to-power downshift. The shift value may be a clutch pressure for an offgoing holding clutch or a torque management level from an engine.

Abstract: An apparatus for calculating a filling time in an automatic transmission and a method thereof are disclosed. The apparatus includes an oil temperature detection unit for detecting an oil temperature of a transmission oil, a control duty input unit for receiving a control duty for controlling a solenoid valve that discharges or fills the transmission oil supplied from an oil pump from or to an oil flow path corresponding to a gear shifting stage to form a hydraulic pressure, a storage unit for storing a filling time table in which a relationship between a remaining flow and a filling time according to the oil temperature is mapped, and a calculation control unit for receiving the control duty of the solenoid valve from the control duty input unit to calculate the remaining flow on the basis of a variation interval of the remaining flow and an elapsed time, and calculating the filling time depending on the filling time table stored in the storage unit on the basis of the remaining flow.

Abstract: The present invention executes a desired gear shift of an automatic transmission using gear shift modeling even when there are three control inputs to two target gear shift values. Setting torque share ratio as a constraint on the equation of motion for the automatic transmission is suitable for controlling the transfer of engaging unit torque, which is considered to be difficult in variable speed control, and allows solving of the equation of motion. Viewed from a different angle, because the torque share ratio, which represents the torque transfer, has been set as a constraint, any gear shift pattern can be handled with a single gear shift model.

Abstract: A transmission calibration tool automatically generates a detailed gearbox model based on a user input transmission topology description. During transmission calibration, the tool accepts inputs from transmission speed and torque sensors and estimates component torques for each gear element and each shift element. Following a shift or other transmission event, the calibration tool plots the component torques as a function of time, permitting the calibration engineer to better understand what is occurring during the event, and thus reducing the time required for calibration. The calibration tool also adapts several transmission component models and outputs the adapted models to provide insight into actual transmission component behavior.
