Abstract: A method for determining a volume of fluid dispensed into a test housing includes creating an electrical potential across at least one input electrode of a plurality of input electrodes and at least one output electrode of a plurality of output electrodes. The input electrodes and the output electrodes are each coupled to the test housing. The method includes receiving at least one signal from the at least one output electrode based on the fluid dispensed into the test housing. The method includes calculating the volume of fluid dispensed into the test housing based on the at least one signal received from the at least one output electrode, a dimension associated with an internal channel defined within the test housing, and a distance between two input electrodes of the plurality of input electrodes.

Abstract: The disclosed subject matter relates to diagnostic procedures and related device architectures that check the operating health of a display element of a host electronic device. In certain embodiments, a display apparatus for an electronic device includes a display element, a display controller, a conductive trace, and a detection circuit. The display element has an array of pixel elements formed overlying a substrate and arranged to define a viewable display area. The display controller is coupled to control activation of the array of pixel elements. The conductive trace is formed overlying the substrate and is arranged to bypass the display controller in a layout that does not interfere with visibility of the pixel elements. The detection circuit is coupled to the conductive trace, and it operates to check electrical continuity of the conductive trace to obtain an indication of health of the display element.

Abstract: Techniques for automatically configuring a medical device with user-specific configuration data are provided. In some embodiments, the techniques may involve determining, by a first medical device, that the first medical device is being removed from service on a patient based at least in part on detecting removal of a portion of the first medical device from contact with or being coupled to the patient. The techniques may further involve in response to determining that the first medical device is being removed from service on the patient, communicating user-specific configuration data used by the first medical device to a second medical device, wherein the second medical device is a replacement medical device for the first medical device.

Abstract: Devices, systems, and techniques for automatic network configuration based on biometric authentication are described herein. In one example, one or more processors may obtain first biometric data derived from one or more sensor signals generated by one or more sensors of a first device coupled to a user. The one or more processors may obtain second biometric data derived from one or more sensor signals generated by one or more sensors of a second device. The one or more processors may compare the first biometric data and the second biometric data, determine that the second device is coupled to the user based on the comparison, and establish a communication link with the second device based on the determination that the second device is coupled to the user.

Abstract: Embodiments are provided for dynamic management of charge. The techniques may involve obtaining an estimated readiness time for an energy storage element, obtaining a target state of charge for the energy storage element, calculating an estimated charging time based at least in part on a difference between the target state of charge and a current state of charge, using a first charging rate to charge the energy storage element to an intermediate state of charge, and responsive to determining the amount of time remaining before reaching a second estimated readiness time is less than an updated estimated charging time to charge the energy storage element at the intermediate state of charge to the target state of charge, using a second charging rate to charge the energy storage element to the target state of charge, wherein the second charging rate is greater than the first charging rate.

Abstract: A linear voltage regulator is disclosed. The voltage regulator is configured and controlled such that its output current is substantially equal to the input current. A test system for measuring electrical current consumption of a device under test (DUT) is disclosed. The test system comprises a controller coupled to a power capacitor, a voltage regulator, and a switching circuit. The controller may be configured to: control the switching circuit to place the test system into a charging state to charge the power capacitor with the DC voltage source, at a first time point, control the switching circuit to place the test system into a measurement state such that the power capacitor provides the capacitor voltage to the voltage regulator, and at a second time point after the first time point, calculate electrical current provided by the power capacitor.

Abstract: A system includes an electronic device and an auxiliary device for charging the electronic device and facilitating hardware shutdown/reset of the electronic device when the electronic device is being charged. The system includes an input user interface (e.g., on the auxiliary device or the electronic device) configured to receive a user input for hardware shutdown/reset of the electronic device. The electronic device includes a switch between a battery and a system load, a control circuit configured to open the switch to disconnect the battery and the system load, and a charging interface configured to receive electric power signals from the auxiliary device to power the control circuit, such that hardware shutdown/reset of the electronic device is performed when the electronic device is being charged, thereby preventing unintentional hardware shutdown/reset during normal use. In some embodiments, wireless control signals are used to initiate hardware shutdown/reset on the electronic device.
