The present invention is aimed at providing a magnetic disk and a magnetic disk apparatus both of which have a high performance lubricating film which makes continuous sliding endurance and low adhesiveness compatible, and a lubricating film having a self repairing function which makes it possible to recombine scratched off lubricating agent from the magnetic disk surface by sliding with a head onto the magnetic disk surface. The lubricating film comprises at least two kinds of lubricating agents each of which forms an individual layer, the layers being laminated. An adhesion enhancing layer is formed between a magnetic film and a lubricating agent at the surface of the magnetic disk, and the adhesion enhancing layer is fixed onto the magnetic film surface. Then, the adhesion enhancing layer and the lubricating agent are combined. The adhesion enhancing layer and the lubricating agent form a salt or complex body, and the lubricating agent can repeat adsorption and desorption with the adhesion enhancing layer reversely by a thermal reaction.

A control and method of overwrite optical recording with a first recording data transmission speed. In accordance with the method data which has been written, is verified for errors. When the number of errors exceeds a predetermined level, the data is re-recorded at the same location. The re-recording is either: 1) conducted with the same conditions; 2) conducted with a higher low level laser beam intensity; 3) conducted with the low level and high level laser beam intensities reversed; or 4) conducted after conducting a test recording and resetting the laser beam modulation intensity.

For an internal combustion engine with a supercharger, a slip of the driven wheel is controlled by reducing torque of the engine, when the extent of the slip becomes large in relation to a road surface. When the running status of the engine exists in a non-supercharging region, the slip is controlled by at least one of operations for reducing the amount of fuel to be supplied to the engine and for retarding the timing of ignition (first slip control). On the other hand, in a supercharging region, the slip is controlled by lowering the pressure to be supercharged (second slip control). In a transient period of time when the running status of the engine is caused to shift from the non-supercharging region to the supercharging region when the first slip control is being conducted in the non-supercharging region, the first slip control is allowed to be continued until the slip is caused to be converged, in place of the second slip control.

Either or both of the two kinds of micro areas serve as information units, and information is expressed by the presence/absence or length of the information units. The two magnetic layers are exchange-coupled to each other at a temperature not more than Curie Temperatures of the two layers, and directions of magnetization of the magnetic layers can be aligned at room temperature in a state wherein an interface magnetic wall is formed between the two magnetic layers in each first micro area.
