摘要:
In a coaxial filter arrangement having a plurality of coaxial resonators each having a bottomed metallic cylinder interposed between a dielectric plate and one end of a center conductor of each resonator, the peripheral wall portion of the metallic cylinder is received in the bore of an outer conductor having an open end and a closed end connected to the other end of the center conductor. In one embodiment, the bottom of the metallic cylinder has a convex portion at its center so that the bottom center projects outwardly. In another embodiment, an annular metallic member is interposed between the dielectric plate and the outer surface of the flat bottom of the metallic cylinder. Since the distance between bottoms of metallic cylinders of adjacent resonators is made large with this arrangement, influence due to leakage flux of electromagnetic field is small, while stray capacitance is negligibly small, thereby providing a filter having high performance and low loss.

Two conducting lines are arranged in a ring form in a TEM-mode transmission line. The end of one of the lines is connected to the end of the other line with opposite polarity, thus forming a resonator for resonation in a half-wavelength mode. This structure, free of line discontinuity which lowers the Q value, can provide a resonator having a high Q value equivalent to that of the one-wavelength resonator. Moreover, it is satisfactory to provide a half of a length of the one-wavelength resonator. Accordingly, the structure of the resonator has reduced size but little Q-value deterioration.

A strip-line filter is provided with upper- and lower-stage resonators having the same electromagnetic characteristics. Each of the resonators has a one-wavelength square-shaped strip line and four open-end transmission lines connected to four coupling points A,C,B and D (or E,G,F and H) of each resonator which are spaced 90 degrees in electric length in that order. The square-shaped strip lines have a pair of parallel coupling lines closely placed in parallel to each other to electromagnetically couple the resonators. Therefore, the filter can be manufactured in a small size. A first microwave resonated in each resonator is electromagnetically influenced by two open-end transmission lines connected to two coupling points A and B (or E and F), and a second microwave resonated in each resonator is electromagnetically influenced by two open-end transmission lines connected to two coupling points C and D (or G and H). Therefore, resonance wavelengths of the microwaves can be longer than a line length of each square-shaped strip line. Also, the resonance wavelengths can be adjusted by trimming the transmission lines. Also, because all constitutional elements are made of strip lines, the filter can be made plane.

A strip dual mode filter consists of a strip line ring resonator having an electric length equivalent to a resonance wavelength .lambda..sub.o for resonating microwaves at the resonance wavelength .lambda..sub.o according to a characteristic impedance thereof, an input coupling capacitor for transmitting the microwaves from an input terminal to a coupling point A of the ring resonator, an output coupling capacitor for outputting the microwaves resonated in the ring resonator from a coupling point B of the ring resonator to an output terminal, and a phase-shifting circuit connected to a coupling point C and a coupling point D of the ring resonator for changing the characteristic impedance of the ring resonator by shifting a phase of the microwave by a multiple of a half-wave length of the microwaves. The coupling point B is spaced a quarter-wave length of the microwaves apart from the coupling point A, the coupling point C is spaced the half-wave length of the microwaves apart from the coupling point A, and the coupling point D is spaced the half-wave length of the microwaves apart from the coupling point B.

A dielectric resonator is provided which includes a dielectric block, an inner conductor formed on an outer surface of the dielectric block, and another outer conductor formed on an outer surface of the dielectric block. The inner conductor is so geometrically modified as to change the characteristic impedance in a manner wherein the shape of either the inner conductor or the dielectric block is changed.

A coaxial dielectric resonator for use at high frequency. The outer or inner peripheral surface of a tubular dielectric member is stepped so as to provide a greater suppression of spurious resonance. The dielectric member has a prism-shaped outer configuration so as to provide a high Q value, as well as improved space factor.

A coaxial dielectric resonator for VHF and/or UHF band comprising a generally cylindrical dielectric having inner surface and outer surface. The inner and outer surfaces of the dielectric are respectively covered by outer and inner conductors and these conductors are connected at one end of the dielectric. An adjusting screw for adjusting resonance frequency is provided at the other end of the dielectric which is covered by a lid while holding a gap between the adjusting screw and the lid. A microwave filter using a plurality of the coaxial dielectric resonator is further described.

In a band stop filter having a plurality of series resonating circuits, and coaxial cables connected between the series resonating circuits, the length of each of the coaxial cables is made either shorter or longer than quarter wavelength at the center frequency. With this arrangement, asymmetry is introduced in the insertion loss vs frequency characteristic curve so that the curve is sharper than the symmetrical curve in a given range, resulting in a reduction of insertion loss at a transmission band which resides either above or below the center frequency. Two band stop filters may be combined to constitute an antenna coupler for connecting a transmitter and a receiver to a common antenna. Each of the series resonating circuits used in the band stop filter may be constructed of a quarter wavelength coaxial resonator, which functions as a parallel resonating circuit, and a loop-like coaxial cable, which functions as a coupling capacitor.

A microwave filter comprising within a conductive casing, a plurality of resonant transmission lines arranged parallel between opposed end walls of the casing, a plurality of shielding members each located between adjacent transmission lines, and a capacitive interstage coupling member disposed transverse to the transmission line. The interstage coupling member comprises a dielectric member and a plurality of conductive regions arranged successively thereon so as to establish capacitive coupling between adjacent conductive regions. Each transmission line is connected at one end to a side wall of the casing and supported at the other end by the dielectric member in electrical contact with a respective one of the conductive regions, whereby the interstage coupling between the transmission lines is provided by the capacitively coupled conductive regions.
