Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide a semiconductor capacitor. The semiconductor capacitor generally includes an insulative layer, and a semiconductor region disposed adjacent to a first side of the insulative layer. The semiconductor capacitor also includes a first non-insulative region disposed adjacent to a second side of the insulative layer. In certain aspects, the semiconductor region may include a second non-insulative region, wherein the semiconductor region includes at least two regions having at least one of different doping concentrations or different doping types, and wherein one or more junctions between the at least two regions are disposed above or below the first non-insulative region.

Abstract: Systems and methods for converting voltages between different voltage levels in a receiver are disclosed. In an aspect, a wireless power receiver apparatus for charging a chargeable device is provided. The apparatus includes a plurality of receive antennas disposed on a cover of the chargeable device, wherein at least one of the plurality of receive antennas is configured to wirelessly receive power according to a wireless charging protocol different from at least one other of the plurality of receive antennas. The apparatus includes a switching circuit disposed on the cover and configured to receive the wireless power from at least one of the plurality of receive antennas and selectively provide a respective voltage from a corresponding one of the plurality of receive antennas across an output configured to be connected to an input of the chargeable device.

Abstract: Systems, methods and apparatus are disclosed for a dual mode wireless power receiver. In accordance with on aspect, an apparatus for receiving wireless power is provided. The apparatus includes a first coil configured to wirelessly receive power from a first transmitter configured to generate a first alternating magnetic field having a first frequency. The apparatus further includes a second coil configured to wirelessly receive power from a second transmitter configured to generate a second alternating magnetic field having a second frequency higher than the first frequency. The second coil is positioned to enclose the first coil. A first coupling factor between the first coil and a coil of the first transmitter is higher than a second coupling factor between the second coil and a coil of the second transmitter when the first and second coils are positioned within respective charging regions of the first and second transmitters.

Abstract: Disclosed is a current sensor that senses current flow in a conductor by coupling a first magnetic field generated by the conductor to a sense element. The current sensor includes a shield including a first material that sandwiches the sense element to define a stack and a second material that sandwiches the stack. The shield is configured to generate a second magnetic field, responsive to a third magnetic field external to the current sensor that opposes the third magnetic field. The shield is further configured to prevent production of a magnetic field that opposes the first magnetic field generated by the flow of current in the conductor.

Abstract: A uniform magnetic field may provide better performance in wireless power transmitters due to smaller impedance variations in an output of a power amplifier of a wireless power transmitter and also allow for wireless power transmitter pads to be thinner. One aspect of the disclosure provides a device for wireless power transfer. The device comprises a substantially planar transmit antenna that is configured to generate a magnetic field. The device also comprises a pad having a charging surface. At least a portion of the transmit antenna is disposed in the pad. The device also comprises a ferromagnetic material having a shape and a position relative to the transmit antenna. At least one of the shape or position of the ferromagnetic material, or a combination thereof, is selected to modify a distribution of the magnetic field at the charging surface.

Abstract: An apparatus for wirelessly receiving power via a wireless field generated by a transmitter includes a resonator configured to generate electrical current to power or charge a load based on a voltage induced in the resonator in response to the wireless field, at least one variable capacitor electrically coupled to the resonator and configured to adjust a first capacitance of the at least one variable capacitor responsive to a first control signal, and a control circuit configured to adjust and apply the first control signal to the at least one variable capacitor to simultaneously adjust a resonant frequency of the resonator and a current output to the load based on an electrical characteristic indicative of a level of power output to the load.
