    Abstract: This disclosure provides methods, devices and systems for a vehicle user equipment (VUE) to obtain extrinsic information about an object or location. The VUE may transmit a request for information about the object or the location to a road side unit (RSU). The RSU may receive the request and determine a set of extrinsic information for the first UE regarding the object or the location based on a set of information from one or more other UEs. The extrinsic information includes information that is not provided by the VUE. The RSU may transmit the set of extrinsic information to the VUE. The VUE may determine whether to accept a feature of the object or the location in the extrinsic information based on the set of extrinsic information and a set of intrinsic information detected by the VUE, The VUE may select an autonomous driving action based on the accepted feature.

    Abstract: A user equipment (UE) in a vehicle (V-UE) broadcasts multi-phased ranging signals with which other entities may determine the range to the V-UE. The multi-phased ranging signals may include a first message, which may be broadcast in the Intelligent Transport System (ITS) spectrum, includes ranging information, such as a source identifier, location information for the broadcasting V-UE, and an expected time of broadcast of the ranging signal. The ranging signal may then be broadcast at the expected time and may include the source identifier. A second message, which be broadcast in the ITS spectrum, may include clock error information for the V-UE. A receiving entity may determine the range to the V-UE based on the time of arrival of the ranging signal and the expected time of transmission, as well as the clock error information. The receiving entity may further generate a position estimate based on the received location information.

    Abstract: Independent ranging sessions that are initiated by multiple initiating user equipments (UEs) are detected and combined into a single combined ranging session to reduce overhead. The independent ranging sessions may be determined to be nearby and concurrent when a UE detects a number of ranging cycles within a predetermined time. The UE may send messages to each initiator UE indicating that the ranging sessions should be combined and the initiator UEs will terminated initiating any further ranging sessions. Combined ranging session may be initiated by the UE and may include all of the participating UEs from the independent ranging sessions. The combined ranging session continues until it is determined that one or more UEs in the combined ranging session are not receiving ranging signals from other UEs.

    Abstract: A user equipment (UE) initiates a positioning session based on ranging in a distributed system of UEs. The positioning session includes a plurality of anchor UEs with known positions that provide information including ranging information and their positions to the initiator UE in post-ranging messages. The initiator UE identifies anchor UEs that provide information that does not significantly contribute to the final position estimate for the initiator UE. The initiator UE, for example, may generate position estimates and associated accuracy levels for different subsets of anchor UEs and may use the accuracy levels to identify a subset of anchor UEs that may be used for positioning in place of the full set of anchor UEs without a significant loss of accuracy. Selected UEs are excluded from providing post-ranging messages in subsequent positioning sessions to reduce signaling overhead and improve efficiency.

In some aspects, a first vehicle user equipment (VUE) may transmit, to a node, first information associated with a presence of an object in a region of interest based at least in part on a sensing of the region of interest performed by the first VUE. The VUE may receive, from the node, second information associated with the presence of the object in the region of interest based at least in part on a sensing of the region of interest performed by a second VUE. The VUE may determine whether the object is present in the region of interest based at least in part on the first information and the second information.     Abstract: Techniques are provided for sidelink positioning with a single anchor using distributed antenna systems. An example method for determining relative locations of two stations includes determining a first round trip time for positioning reference signals transmitted between a first station and a first antenna of a second station, determining a second round trip time for the positioning reference signals transmitted between the first station and a second antenna of the second station, wherein the first antenna and the second antenna are disposed in different locations proximate to the second station, and determining relative locations of the first station and the second station based at least in part on the first round trip time and the second round trip time.

A method that may be performed by a user equipment (UE) includes receiving a first positioning reference signal (PRS) from a first wireless node, receiving a second PRS from a second wireless node, receiving, from the first wireless node, an estimate of a first clock error component between the first wireless node and the second wireless node, and estimating a position of the UE, based on the first PRS, the second PRS, and the estimate of the first clock error component.
