Abstract: A method, an apparatus, and a computer-readable medium for delivering content to end user via shared broadcast are provided. The apparatus may be a UE that determines to acquire a MBMS service. The UE tunes to a frequency provided by a first MNO to which the UE is not a subscriber in order to receive the MBMS service via a carrier shared by the first MNO and at least one other MNO. The UE receives the MBMS service on the frequency via the carrier shared by the first MNO and the at least one other MNO. The shared carrier may have a common SFN timing with respect to the first MNO and the at least one other MNO. The shared carrier may include a shared MBMS SDL carrier. The shared carrier may include a standalone shared carrier for receiving the MBMS service and control information associated with the MBMS service.

Abstract: Certain aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to techniques for connectionless access by a wireless device. Such connectionless access may allow for the transmission of data without the overhead associated with establishing conventional connected access (e.g., radio resource control (RRC) connection) to a network. As a result, a device with relatively little data to transmit, such as a machine type communications (MTC) device, may be able to efficiently exit an idle mode, transmit the data during a connectionless access, and subsequently return to idle mode in a shorter period of time than conventional methods.

Abstract: Aspects described herein relate to reporting user equipment (UE) activity period statistics. Statistics for a UE regarding a time the UE is in a connected mode or idle mode during one or more activity periods can be determined. From the statistics for the UE, it can also be determined whether the time the UE is in the connected mode in the one or more activity periods is less than a threshold. At least a portion of the statistics for the UE can be provided to an access network node where the time the UE is in the connected mode in a corresponding portion of the one or more activity periods is less than the threshold.

Abstract: Network entities in a wireless network cooperate to account and charge for data communicated over the wireless network. Accounting and charging enable the network entities to properly allocate charges to a second user equipment that communicates through a first user equipment, which acts as a relay in the wireless network. A network entity receives a request from the first user equipment related to a packet data network connection relating to the second user equipment. The network entity establishes or modifies a connection between a gateway and the first user equipment in response to the request. Charges for the data may be allocated to the second user equipment for data communicated with the identifier of the second user equipment.

Abstract: Aspects of this disclosure relate generally to mobility in a service-based architecture. Some aspects more specifically relate to path switching in a service-based architecture. In some examples, a distributed node may exchange signaling with a service server to configure and execute a path switch in connection with handover of a user equipment to the distributed node. For example, the distributed node may communicate with the service server directly. As another example, the distributed node may communicate with a mobility service to execute the path switch. In some examples, aspects described herein provide for a service server to buffer data and provide data forwarding in connection with the path switch.

Abstract: This disclosure provides systems, methods, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on computer-readable media, for a service-based cell reselection by a user equipment (UE) in a wireless communication system. The UE may have a service relationship with a particular service. A wireless communication system may provide different types of services via different radio frequencies. The UE may determine which cells to measure for cell reselection to include those that correspond to a service of interest to the UE. In addition to power savings, the UE may experience faster cell reselection for a service. The techniques of this disclosure also may enable a priority-based cell reselection so that the UE can camp on a cell that supports a higher priority service compared to other services supported by the UE.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may identify that the UE is in communication with a first slice of a network via a first control entity at the UE, and may determine that the UE is to further communicate with a second slice of the network. The UE may transmit a control message associated with the first control entity, where the control message may include a request pertaining to communications with the second slice. The UE may receive, in response to the control message and at the first control entity, a reconfiguration message indicating a configuration for using the second slice. The UE may communicate with the second slice of the network based on the configuration.

Abstract: A UE may select one or more paging attributes for paging reception. The one or more paging attributes may be selected from a set of network supported paging attributes. The UE may transmit, to a network, an indication of the one or more paging attributes for paging reception. The UE may receive, from the network, a response message based on the indication of the one or more paging attributes. The response message may include a first UE group number. The first UE group number may be based on at least the one or more paging attributes. The UE may receive a paging indication including a UE group number. The UE may proceed to receive and decode the paging message associated with the paging indication when the UE group number in the paging indication matches the first UE group number. Otherwise, the UE may safely disregard the paging message.
