摘要: A post-combustion lance for use in refining molten metal and recovering heat by combustion of combustible gases evolved from the molten metal bath is provided with a plurality of pairs of post-combustion nozzles arranged about the periphery of the lance above the lower end thereof. The nozzles of each pair are directed downwardly toward the lower end of the lance and at an angle to a radius of the lance, such that supersonic oxygen jets emanating from corresponding nozzles of adjacent pairs intersect, whereby the momentum of the individual supersonic jets is partially cancelled thereby forming a single, subsonic oxygen jet which burns combustible off-gases above the surface of the molten metal bath, reducing heat loss by the anti-post-combustion reaction and minimizes furnace lining wear due to shorter flames.

摘要: A smart card with two read-write modes includes antenna layer, and an antenna and a chip module circuits on the antenna layer, wherein the antenna and the chip module circuit are electrically connected via an elastic conductive device. The invention also provides a manufacturing method of the aforesaid smart card with two read-write modes, which includes steps of: embedding an antenna on a back side or a front side of an antenna layer; after completing embedding on the antenna layer, add bedding sheets, printed sheets and protection films respectively above and underneath the antenna layer, then laminating to obtain a card base carrier; cutting card from the treated whole-sheet card base carrier to obtain a card base, and milling slots on the obtained card base, then finally encapsulating.

摘要: A method is provided for determining a state-of-health of a battery in a vehicle-during an engine cranking phase. An engine cranking phase is initiated. Characteristic data is recorded that includes battery voltage data and engine cranking speed data during the engine cranking phase. The characteristic data is provided to a pre-processing unit. The pre-processing unit normalizes the characteristic data for processing within a classifier. The normalized data is input o the classifier for determining the vehicle battery state-of-health. The classifier has a trained state-of-health decision boundary resulting from a plurality of trials in which predetermined characterization data is collected with known classes. The battery state-of-health is classified based on the trained state-of-health decision boundary.

摘要: A personal care composition comprising a cationically modified cellulose ether, wherein the cellulose ether comprises from 0.5 to 4 moles of an ether substituent per mole of anhydroglucose repeat unit and the cellulose ether further substituted with a cationic substituent of the formula (I) wherein R1, R2 and R3 each independently are CH3 or C2H5, R4 is CH2—CHOH—CH2 or CH2CH2, Az− is an anion, and z is 1, 2 or 3, and the cellulose ether comprises from 1.15 to 1.44 percent of cationic nitrogen, based on the total weight of the cellulose ether. The cationically modified cellulose ethers which comprise from 6,000 to 15,000 anhydroglucose repeat units are novel.

摘要: A method and system for streaming media objects. A streaming system includes a group of end nodes and at least one core node connected via an overlay network. The end nodes cache segments of media objects and stream the media objects to a client segment by segment. Each end node stores segment indices for locating segments cached on end nodes or a core node in the system. The core node is a dedicated proxy which fetches media objects from a remote media server and streams the media objects to a client when the media objects are unavailable from the end nodes.

摘要: A peer-to-peer communication system in which a peer communicating with a tracker node on a local torrent can locate and download files that are not currently available from other peers communicating on the local torrent. To enable this, the tracker node maintains collaboration information for a list of files. The collaboration information includes, for each file, a list of locations at which a full copy of the file may be located. The list of locations may include active peers, dormant peers and remote tracker nodes. The collaboration information may be obtained from each peer when it joins a local torrent. Upon joining the torrent, the peer may provide the local tracker node with a list of files that it is willing to serve.
