摘要: Break and optional hold preserves a state of a computing environment on which a software program has failed. Being able to examine the status of the environment existing upon the occurrence of the failure, including the condition of various processes and values facilitates resolution of the cause of the failure. Upon occurrence of a failure during the execution of a first software program in a first computing environment, execution of the first software program breaks. A first state of the first computing environment existing upon the breaking in execution of the first software program is then held. A failure notification is generated to signal the failure to a monitoring system. The monitoring system accesses hold information to determine whether the first computing environment should hold its current state and whether one or more other computing environments interacting with the first computing environment should also hold their states.

摘要: A method of automation for loosely affiliated national & international Merchants operating independent businesses from their own exclusive web based stores to market a plurality of products or services and directly retail each other's merchandise as well as their own. That is, numerous merchants operating independently within a technology-based platform may designate products as ‘Available for Re-sale’ (wholesale Merchandise); said merchandise is robotically inserted into participating stores within the system. When consumers place their retail orders from any web-store, the retail and wholesale transactions are simultaneously completed without further interaction. The retailing merchant (seller) is not required to pre-purchase, stock, or ship any merchandise, thus eliminating traditional multiple-shipping costs from manufacturer to distributor, distributor to retailer, retailer to consumer. The result is that the Wholesaler's merchandise is automatically displayed and sold in the Retailer's store, then perfunctorily shipped from numerous locations across the globe thereby establishing a worldwide warehouse.

摘要: Detecting machine utilization activity may be provided. Client machine activity within a computer network may be monitored to determine if the client machine is available for use, or if the computer is already engaged in one or more activities. During a predetermined receive period, machine activity information for a given client machine. The machine activity information for the client machine is compared to previously stored machine activity information to determine if an activity state for the client machine has changed. If the activity state of the client machine has changed, the activity state for the machine is updated. Machine activity information for all computers in the computer network may be used to track and optimize resources with the computer network.

摘要: A four-panel liquid-crystal-on-silicon (LCOS) projection display system utilizes four available ports of a beam splitter and polarization filter architecture to provide a four-color component image with an increased brightness and color gamut compared with typical three-color component images. The projection display system includes a light source, four light modulating panels, a light directing subsystem, and a projection lens. The light source is operable to generate light having four color components. Each of the four light modulators is operable to generate a respective image associated with the respective one of the four color components. The light directing subsystem is operable to split the four color components before modulation and recombine them after modulation, and each light modulator is located at a separate port of the light directing subsystem. The projection lens is operable to project an image of the modulated combined color components.

摘要: An offset related to a feedback system for a VCO is quantified and then a parameter of the feedback system is adjusted in response to the quantified offset to correct for the offset. Correcting for offset in a feedback system can improve the performance of a PLL by reducing phase drift between the input signal and the VCO signal. The reduced phase drift can have benefits such as, for example, reduced bit errors and/or improved phase tracking accuracy.

摘要: A wall block includes two finished wall material layers attached to a frame where the tops of the wall blocks are configured to support other wall blocks. Exterior wall blocks for constructing exterior walls include an interior wall material layer and an exterior wall material layer. Interior wall blocks include interior wall material layers on both vertical sides of the frame. Walls are formed by stacking and gluing the prefabricated wall blocks and vertically aligning the wall blocks in an offset or in a vertical configuration to form a stack bond, running bond, or offset running bond wall configuration. The interior wall material layers and exterior wall material layers do not require further finishing after a wall is assembled thereby greatly reducing labor costs.

摘要: An optical encoder utilizes a photodetector array having at least two photodetectors with different surface areas that generate different amounts of photocurrent when they are simultaneously lit by an LED. Because the photodetectors generate different amounts of photocurrent when simultaneously lit, the photodetectors produce unambiguous results that can be used to index a coding element such as a codewheel. Another optical encoder utilizes one index photodetector that is aligned with an index track and another index photodetector that is aligned with a position track of a coding element to index the coding element.
