    Abstract: An infrastructure equipment for providing a wireless backhaul for another infrastructure equipment in a wireless communications network comprises a receiver configured to receive, from the other infrastructure equipment acting as a relay, uplink data transmitted by a communications device, a transmitter configured to transmit to the infrastructure equipment acting as a node via the wireless access interface, and a controller. The controller is configured to control the transmitter and receiver to establish a connection with the other infrastructure equipment, the connection providing the wireless backhaul for the transmission of data from the communications device to a core network of the wireless communications network via the other infrastructure equipment, and to transmit in a message on the downlink of the wireless access interface an indication of whether the other infrastructure equipment is permitted to transmit a request while in the connected mode.

    Abstract: A communications device configured to receive data from an infrastructure equipment of a wireless communications network is provided. The communications device comprises transceiver circuitry configured to transmit signals and to receive signals via a wireless access interface provided by the wireless communications network, and controller circuitry. The controller circuitry is configured to control the transceiver circuitry to receive an explicit uplink hybrid automatic repeat request acknowledgement indicator, e-HARQ indicator, from the infrastructure equipment, and to determine, in accordance with the received e-HARQ indicator, whether or not the communications device should monitor for a first HARQ acknowledgement, HARQ-ACK, in a specific time slot and in a specific frequency resource of the wireless access interface, the first HARQ-ACK being transmitted by the infrastructure equipment in response to an uplink transmission from the communications device to the infrastructure equipment.

    Abstract: A terminal device configured to receive a radio signal from which measurements can be used to assist in determining a position of the terminal device. The terminal device detects one or more system information blocks carrying position assistance information transmitted from the infrastructure equipment and estimates the position of the terminal device by combining the identified position assistance information with the radio signal received by the position detection receiver circuitry. Furthermore the terminal device receives from the infrastructure equipment an indication of relative risk that the position assistance information will change, and in response to the indication of the relative risk that the position assistance information will change to adapt the receiving of the one or more system information blocks to receive an updated version of the position assistance information in accordance with the relative risk.

    Abstract: A method for operating an infrastructure equipment forming part of a wireless communications network, which includes a base station and a non-terrestrial network part, the non-terrestrial network part transmitting a plurality of spot beams to provide a wireless access interface for transmitting signals to and receiving signals representing data from a communications device within a coverage region formed by a first of the spot beams. The method comprises receiving assistance information from the communications device, identifying, based on the received assistance information, that a backup configuration should be updated to indicate one or more others of the spot beams, the one or more others of the spot beams being backups to the first spot beam in case of beam failure of the first spot beam, and transmitting a backup beam reconfiguration message to the communications device, the backup beam configuration message comprising an indication of the updated backup configuration.
