Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a system and method of providing UE capability of supporting reception of multicast in Radio Resource Control_INACTIVE (RRC_INACTIVE) state. The method comprises sending an uplink-message to a communication network to register the UE's intention of joining a multicast session to receive a multicast service. Further a capability-indication is included in the uplink-message, where the capability indication indicates if the UE is capable of joining the multicast session in Radio Resource Control_INACTIVE (RRC_INACTIVE) state. Furthermore, the multicast service is received in the RRC_INACTIVE state based on capability negotiation between the UE and the communication network, in response to the capability indication.

Further, the method includes detecting an initiation of an application in the UE. Further, the method includes determining that the URSP rule configuration is applicable to the application. Further, the method includes selecting the route selection descriptor included in the URSP rule configuration in response to determining that the URSP rule configuration is applicable to the application.

Abstract: A method for performing a Network Slice Specific Authentication Authorization (NSSAA) procedure for a network slice is disclosed. Management entity of network system detects UEs having inactive sessions and releases the inactive sessions for UEs. Management entity transmits notification to UEs and to AMF entity of network system indicating release of inactive sessions. Management entity also transmits a request to AMF entity requesting deregistration of UEs having inactive sessions. Further, AMF entity identifies presence of any active sessions for UEs through other management entities for access type corresponding to UEs. AMF entity upon identifying absence of active sessions, deregisters network slice for UEs having inactive sessions. Thereafter, NSACF entity of network system updates parameters associated with network slice for managing network slice. Thus, the present disclosure aids in avoiding wastage of resources of the network slice.

Abstract: Embodiments of present disclosure relates to an apparatus and method for managing security context related to a UE. Initially, registration of a UE with a new AMF in a communication network is identified. Further, generation of new security context by new AUSF selected by the new AMF for authentication of the UE is detected. Further, presence of one or more old security contexts elated to the UE and generated by one or more old AUSFs selected by one or more old AMFs for one or more previous authentications of the UE, is detected. Upon the detection, de-registration of the UE with the one or more old AUSFs is initiated for managing security context related to the UE in the communication network. Thus, stale and inactive security context related to the UE may be deleted in the network and security of communication with the UE is enhanced.

Methods and systems for handling encoding of radio capability information of UE using RACS. A method disclosed herein includes encoding radio capability information of a user equipment (UE) in formats of multiple radio access technologies (RATs) that have been supported by a public land mobile network (PLMN) in which the UE is registered. The method further includes assigning a radio capability identifier (RAC-ID) to the UE for signalling the radio capability information encoded in the multiple formats across the multiple RATs. The method further includes encoding the radio capability information in a specific format of the indicated RAT and assigning the RAC-ID to the UE for signalling the radio capability information and the associated encoding format.
