摘要： A color image forming apparatus includes: a rotary image forming body; a plurality of charging units provided along the image forming body for charging the image forming body; a plurality of exposure units each provided inside the image forming body for imagewise exposing the image forming body to form a latent image; a plurality of developing units each storing therein colored developer different from each other, provided along the image forming body, for developing the latent image formed on the image forming body to form a colored toner image different from each other. After a plurality of different colored toner images are superimposed on the image forming body through successively repeating of charging by the charging unit, imagewise exposing by the exposure unit and developing by the developing unit to form a colored toner image during one rotation of the image forming body, the superimposed toner images are collectively transferred onto a transfer member. The apparatus further includes a process cartridge integrally having the plurality of charging units, the image forming body having therein the plurality of exposure units and the plurality of developing units, wherein the plurality of developing units are detachably attachable to the process cartridge.

摘要： A heat exchanger support structure has a heat exchanger, a heat exchanger support supporting the heat exchanger, and motor fan units. The heat exchanger support is integrally formed with motor fan shroud portions for directing the air flow caused by motor fans. Electric motors driving the fans are respectively surrounded by a cylindrical shroud member, which has stays received in holding portions formed on the shroud portion with an elastic member interposed between the stay and the holding portion. The arrangement of the shroud member, the motor fan unit, and the elastic member functions as a dynamic damper.

An image converting unit is provided for converting the read image data into output image data according to at least one of: (i) the first information with respect to the position of the binding margin of the document and the direction of the document, and (ii) the second information with respect to the position of the binding margin of the image to be printed and the direction of the image to be printed. And a writing unit is provided for printing the image to be printed according to the output image data.

摘要： An image forming apparatus includes an image forming body for carrying thereon a toner image, and a belt-shaped intermediate transfer body for carrying thereon the toner image transferred from the image forming body. A first transfer device is provided for transferring another toner image carried by the image forming body onto an obverse side of a recording sheet conveyed by the intermediate transfer body, and a second transfer device is provided for transferring the toner image carried on the intermediate transfer body onto a reverse side of the recording sheet. In addition, a fixing device is provided for fixing the toner images transferred on both sides of the recording sheet which is separated from the intermediate transfer body, and a conveyor portion having spurred wheels is provided between the intermediate transfer body and the fixing device for conveying the transfer member to the fixing device. The apparatus has a structure including two frames which can be opened. When the frames are closed, the image forming body is set to a first position adjacent to and facing the intermediate transfer body and the second transfer device is set to a second position adjacent to the intermediate transfer body and the conveyor portion, and when the frames are opened, the image forming body is apart from the first position and the second transfer device is apart from the second position.

摘要： An image forming apparatus has a photoreceptor drum and a toner image receptor for forming toner images on both sides of a transfer sheet. The apparatus includes a photoreceptor drum; a toner image forming unit for forming a toner image on the photoreceptor drum; a toner image receptor, disposed facing the photoreceptor drum, for holding the toner image; a first transfer unit for transferring the toner image, on the photoreceptor drum, to one side surface of a transfer sheet; a second transfer unit for transferring the toner image, on the toner image receptor, to the other side surface of the transfer sheet; a fixing unit for fixing the toner image transferred to both side surfaces of the transfer sheet; an image size discriminator for discriminating a size of an image to be formed by the image forming apparatus, and for generating a signal corresponding to the discriminated size; and a control unit for controlling the image forming apparatus so that either the toner image corresponding to one page is formed on the toner image receptor or the toner image corresponding to plural pages is formed on the toner image receptor according to the signal generated by the image size discriminator.

摘要： An image forming apparatus in which there are integrally provided a process cartridge, composed of an image carrying member in which a latent image is formed, and a developing device and/or a cleaning device. The process cartridge is detachably mountable on the apparatus. A moving device moves the process cartridge from a first position, allowing image forming, to a second position in which the process cartridge can be detached. The moving device outputs a signal indicating that the process cartridge is being moved. There is provided a device to output an instruction signal to a controller which, on receipt of the instruction signal, outputs a drive signal to the moving device to move the process cartridge provided that no signal is input from the moving device.

Further, there are provided an image discriminator for image judgment on the objective pixel and a modulator for modulating a recording position using a reference wave with a long cycle when an image is judged to be a halftone image area under a reference wave with a short cycle when an image is judged to be a character image area.
