A magnetic tape recording and/or reproducing apparatus which has a magnetic head, two tape winding reels, a first capstan and a first pressure roller opposed thereto, a second capstan and a second pressure roller opposed thereto, the pressure rollers being movable into contact with the capstans for transporting a magnetic tape. Two fixed motors are coaxial with and directly drive the respective capstans. A tape direction control is connected to the pressure rollers for selectively bring the first or second pressure roller into contact with the first or second capstan, respectively for selectively driving the tape in one or the other direction. A transmission is provided to which the tape direction control is connected for driving the tape winding reels under the control of the tape direction control means. The transmission has idlers for transmitting the rotary motion of the motors and is selectively engageable with one of the two winding reels and one of the two motors or with the other of the two winding reels and the other of the two motors, depending on the direction in which the tape is to be transported.

A photographic apparatus for producing a visible image on a photosensitivenit including a photosensitive film mounted on a film mount. The apparatus includes: a first member having a supplying station, an exposure station, a developing station and a fixing station provided on a principal surface thereof; two transfer means, one for transferring the unit from the supplying station to the exposure station and or for transferring the unit from the exposure station to the developing station, and from the developing station to the fixing station; and driving means for driving the two transfer means. A latent image of an original is formed on the film at the exposure station, the latent image is developed at the developing station, and the developed image is fixed at the fixing station. The feature of this apparatus is that the function of holding the unit and guiding it to each of said stations is achieved by the first member, and independently the function of transferring the unit is achieved by the two transfer means, whereby the transfer of the unit from one station to another can be carried out securely without fail, and the mechanism of the apparatus can be simplified.

In the heating apparatus, when the specific resistance of a material of a heat generating layer (212) of a heating roller (210) is ρ (μΩcm), the average thickness of the heat generating layer (212) is 5ρ (μm) or more but not more than 15ρ (μm) and the thickness error is 1.2ρ (μm) or less. For instance, in the case of forming the heat generating layer (212) by using cupper having a specific resistance of 1.7 (μΩcm), the average thickness of the heat generating layer (212) is 8-25 (μm) and the thickness error is 2 (μm) or less. Thus, the heating roller (210) having a short heat increasing time and excellent temperature uniformity is provided.

In this apparatus, the Currie temperature Tc of the magnetic adjuster material heated by electromagnetic induction is set to 220 degrees C. or below and the fixation setting temperature of a heating member corresponding to the portion where a recording material passes during continuous sheet feed is set lower than a value than the temperature at which the relative magnetic permeability of the magnetic adjuster material begins to decrease. Thus, it is possible to obtain a large difference between the heating portion and the non-heating portion, to surely prevent excessive temperature increase of the portion out of the recording material width, to reduce the warm-up time, and improve the heating efficiency.

Thus, the heat generating layer (22) can be decreased in thermal capacity, and heat generation of the supporting layer (24) is suppressed, so that only the heat generating layer (22) can be heated efficiently. As a result, a warm-up time can be reduced. Further, breakage by heat of, for example, bearings supporting the heating roller (21) can be prevented.
