A magnetic tape recording and/or reproducing apparatus which has a magnetic head, two tape winding reels, a first capstan and a first pressure roller opposed thereto, a second capstan and a second pressure roller opposed thereto, the pressure rollers being movable into contact with the capstans for transporting a magnetic tape. Two fixed motors are coaxial with and directly drive the respective capstans. A tape direction control is connected to the pressure rollers for selectively bring the first or second pressure roller into contact with the first or second capstan, respectively for selectively driving the tape in one or the other direction. A transmission is provided to which the tape direction control is connected for driving the tape winding reels under the control of the tape direction control means. The transmission has idlers for transmitting the rotary motion of the motors and is selectively engageable with one of the two winding reels and one of the two motors or with the other of the two winding reels and the other of the two motors, depending on the direction in which the tape is to be transported.

A photographic apparatus for producing a visible image on a photosensitivenit including a photosensitive film mounted on a film mount. The apparatus includes: a first member having a supplying station, an exposure station, a developing station and a fixing station provided on a principal surface thereof; two transfer means, one for transferring the unit from the supplying station to the exposure station and or for transferring the unit from the exposure station to the developing station, and from the developing station to the fixing station; and driving means for driving the two transfer means. A latent image of an original is formed on the film at the exposure station, the latent image is developed at the developing station, and the developed image is fixed at the fixing station. The feature of this apparatus is that the function of holding the unit and guiding it to each of said stations is achieved by the first member, and independently the function of transferring the unit is achieved by the two transfer means, whereby the transfer of the unit from one station to another can be carried out securely without fail, and the mechanism of the apparatus can be simplified.

A printing apparatus having a simple construction is constituted by a print element with a plurality of resilient spokes which have type elements disposed vertically thereon and in two rows around the element and extend upwardly from a disc base in a cylinder, and a gear on the disc base integral therewith and coaxial with the disc base and cylinder. The print element is easy to mount and remove. A hammer for pressing each type element on the print element against a printing member and a shaft mechanism for carrying out a shifting operation of the print element are provided. A rotary means includes a motor for rotatably driving the print element and a drive gear connected to the motor. A holder is provided for holding the print element, hammer, and shift mechanism. The print element is preferable mountable and removable with respect to the holder and when mounted, engages the drive gear and is rotatable and vertically movable.

For instance, when the heat generating layer is copper having a specific resistance of 1.7 (μ′Ωcm), the average thickness of the heat generating layer is 8-25 (μm), and the thickness error is 2 (μm) or less. Thus, the heating roller having a short heat increasing time and excellent temperature uniformity is provided.

A heat generating roller, fixing equipment and an image forming apparatus in which warm-up time is shortened while preventing excessive temperature rise and good fixing performance is realized by preventing occurrence of offset. In the heat generating roller, fixing equipment and image forming apparatus, the heat generating roller is formed principally by laying a high permeability conductive layer and a nonmagnetic conductive layer in layer. When a voltage is applied from a power supply (not shown) to an exciting coil and an AC current flow through it, magnetic flux is generated around the exciting coil and a magnetic field is formed. Since the heat generating roller has the high permeability conductive layer and the nonmagnetic conductive layer laid in layer, magnetic coupling of a system consisting of the heat generating roller and the exciting coil is good at the time of low temperature and heat generation of the heat generating roller is accelerated. When the Curie point is exceeded, skin depth becomes deep and skin resistance decreases, which suppresses generation of Joule's heat and reduces heat generation of the heat generating roller.

A first flange that is integrally formed into one unit including a first taper hole portion that is a positioning part with respect to the apparatus main body for positioning the photosensitive member at the image forming position of the apparatus main body and a first coupling portion that is a rotation engaging portion for receiving a rotation driving force from the apparatus main body is attached to one end of the photosensitive member. Thereby, it is possible to realize an image forming unit having a simple structure, capable of being reduced in size and weight, and realizing a high quality image, and an image forming apparatus capable of improving the positioning and the rotating accuracy of the photosensitive member at the image forming position by using the image forming unit.
