摘要: A pouch-shaped air bag (12) is spread out in a circle. Then, the portion of the air bag (12) located outside the inflator (16) is folded into a wave-like pattern from four directions so that four side portions (61) are formed along the inflator (16). Next, each one of the four excess portions (62), which are continuously formed between each two adjacent side portions (61) and protrude outward, is placed along the outer face of each side portion (61). Thus, the air bag (12) can be easily folded compactly that can be smoothly unfolded.

摘要: With a view to preventing the oxidation of a metal film at the time of light oxidation treatment after gate patterning and at the same time to making it possible to control the reproducibility of oxide film formation and homogeneity of oxide film thickness at gate side-wall end portions, in a gate processing step using a poly-metal, a gate electrode is formed by patterning a gate electrode material which has been deposited over a semiconductor wafer 1A having a gate oxide film formed thereon and has a poly-metal structure and then, the principal surface of the semiconductor wafer 1A heated to a predetermined temperature or vicinity thereof is supplied with a hydrogen gas which contains water at a low concentration, the water having been formed from hydrogen and oxygen by a catalytic action, to selectively oxidize the principal surface of the semiconductor wafer 1A, whereby the profile of the side-wall end portions of the gate electrode is improved.

摘要: An optical module including a lead frame having a plurality of leads, a substrate mounted on the lead frame and having a plurality of conductive patterns, an optical element mounted on the substrate for making conversion between light and electricity, a sleeve placed on the substrate and having a front end adjacent to the optical element, and a first resin for encapsulating the optical element. The first resin has transparency to the light related to the optical element. The first resin is formed with a convex portion closing the front end of the sleeve. The conductive patterns of the substrate are connected through wires to the leads of the lead frame, respectively. The optical module further includes a molded second resin for enclosing all of the substrate, the optical element, the sleeve, the first resin, the wires, and the lead frame except a part of the sleeve and a part of each of the leads.

摘要: An air bag system is provided that limits the forward projection of the air bag and reduces production costs wherein folded portions are formed by folding the peripheral portion of a flatly spread air bag along folding lines which are provided at specified locations. The formed folded portions are constrained by stitched portions which are formed by stitching folded-down portions with thread. The air bag is then folded into a size so as to be constrained in a cover. When gas is injected from an inflator, the air bag tears the cover and projects forward and at the same time the stitched portions limit the distance by which the air bag projects forward. As the internal pressure in the air bag increases, the stitched portions break and the folded portions are unfolded so that the air bag expands radially.

摘要: A condom prophylactic against AIDS infection coated with acidic polysaccharides is provided which has an antiviral action and a method of the manufacture thereof. The acidic polysaccharides can be polysaccharides, protein-bound saccharides and glycolipids such as extracts from sea-weeds, extracts from Procaryomycota and Eucaryomycota, carrageenan and so on which have acidic groups such as sulfuric acid group in a portion of polysaccharides. A condom is coated with a solution of said acidic polysaccharides, and optionally with a lubricant. AIDS infection can be prevented without side effect by using a condom of the present invention.

摘要: A computer system replaces an input device, such as a mouse, with a video camera having an image recognizing function and an image extracting function to detect motions of the operator's body directly, and controls a computer apparatus to move a cursor and check on an icon on the basis of the output signals of the video camera. The computer system controls the computer apparatus also on the basis of a signal provided by the video camera upon the detection of light emitted by a particular object. The computer system is capable of making the computer apparatus understand an operator's intention without using any conventional input device, such as a mouse, and of facilitating an operator's input operation.

摘要: A polyarylene sulfide resin composition obtained by melt-mixing a mixture comprising resin components comprising as main resins(A) a polyarylene sulfide resin and(B) a polyorganopsiloxane graft copolymer obtained by graft-polymerizing one or more kinds of vinyl monomer containing at least an epoxy group-containing vinyl monomer onto a compound rubber in which a polyorganosiloxane rubber and a polyalkyl (meth)acrylate rubber have been inseparably united with each other. The composition of the present invention, whether it contains a filler or not, is excellent in compatibility between the polyarylene sulfide resin and polyorganosiloxane graft copolymer. If this composition is extrusion-molded or injection-molded under the common molding conditions, it keeps its original dispersed and mixed condition without showing a phase separation. Consequently, this composition has an excellent performance that impact resistance also has been given to the polyarylene sulfide resin without largely injuring excellent properties inherent to the resin. Particularly, this composition is very little deteriorated in impact strength when it is put in wet heat conditions under pressure, and therefore it is usable in such conditions.

摘要: A polyarylene sulfide resin composition obtainable by mixing and reacting(A) 99 to 60 parts by weight of a polyarylene sulfide resin,(B) 1 to 40 parts by weight of a polyorganosiloxane rubber, in which 0.1 to 20 wt. % of a siloxane compound represented by the following formula (I):HS(CH.sub.2).sub.p --SiR.sub.n (OR').sub.3-n (I) wherein R represents a methyl, ethyl, propyl or phenyl group, R' represents a methyl or ethyl group, n represents an integer of 0, 1 or 2, and p represents an integer of 1 to 6, are copolymerized, having an average particle size of 0.1 to 0.5 .mu.m and a degree of swelling of 3 to 50 measured by immersing in toluene, or a polyorganosiloxane graft copolymer prepared by graft-polymerizing a monomer comprising at least one of an unsaturated carboxylic acid and its anhydride to a polyorganosiloxane rubber having an average particle size of 0.1 to 0.5 .mu.m and a degree of swelling of 3 to 50 measured by immersing in toluene,(C) 0.01 to 10 parts by weight, based on 100 parts by weight of the total weight of the components (A) and (B), of at least one polyfunctional compound selected from the group consisting of polyfunctional isocyanate compounds, polyfunctional oxazoline compounds and polyfunctional epoxy compounds, and(D) 0 to 300 wt. %, based on the total weight of the components (A), (B) and (C), of a filler. The composition having excellent impact resistance without a large reduction in the properties inherent to a polyarylene sulfide resin.
