In the present invention, at the time of bonding a top plate with an ink supply member pre-bonded thereto to one side of a head substrate directly or indirectly through a thermosetting adhesive to close grooves formed in the head substrate, or at the time of later bonding an ink supply member through a thermosetting adhesive to a top plate which has been bonded directly or indirectly to a head substrate, the bonding is carried out while applying to the head substrate and the top plate such a load as maintains the head substrate and the top plate in parallel with each other after curing of the adhesive. Therefore, even if the thermal expansion coefficient of the ink supply member is higher than that of the head substrate or even if the thermal expansion coefficients of both ink supply member and top plate are higher than the thermal expansion coefficient of the head substrate, it is possible to prevent warping of the head substrate and the top plate at the time of curing of the thermosetting adhesive and hence possible to facilitate aligning of nozzles.

An ink jet printer head fabricating method includes forming electrodes on surfaces of plural grooves by an electroless plating method using a wet process, the plural grooves being formed in a laminate substrate of two piezo electric members, cutting a portion of the laminate substrate with a dicing saw, and subsequently removing burrs of the electrodes by brushing with a brushing device. Burrs of the electrodes formed on the surfaces of the grooves are removed by the brushing without chipping or cracking of the electrodes, thereby preventing defects in ink ejection.

The invention provides a method for a portable electronic device such as a computer to be capable of safely coping with the occurrence of a surprise removal from an external hard disk drive (HDD) connected by wireless. An HDD is connected to a portable computer by wireless via a wireless extension device. First, a wireless communication path between the HDD and the portable computer is configured. Subsequently, a file is read and edited by accessing the HDD from the portable computer. Next, removal information indicating that the portable computer is away from the HDD is produced. The removal information can be produced by detecting an acceleration generated in the portable computer, or by directly detecting the distance by the strength of the wireless signal. Data under editing is saved before occurrence of surprise removal by ejecting the HDD in response to the production of the removal information.

A polarizing apparatus extracts light amount of which is increased by incidence of light (10, 12) having a plurality of planes of polarization, and by aligning the planes of polarization. This polarizing apparatus can be used as a polarizer for a liquid crystal display device (optical transducer), or can be disposed as a preliminary stage before a polarizer. Molecules of an optically active material (1) rotates the plane of polarization through an optical rotation angle &thgr;1 when a first vector component 10 of light having a horizontal plane of polarization passes, and rotates the plane of polarization through an optical rotation angle &thgr;2 (>&thgr;1) when a second vector component of light having a vertical plane of polarization passes. Therefore, light having a horizontal plane of polarization is amplified, and light having a vertical plane of polarization is reduced. To bestow the anisotropy of the optical rotation angle on the large number of molecules making up the optically active material molecular constituents of the optically active material are substantially aligned in three dimensions. By this means, the efficiency of use of the incident light can be increased, and a brighter display can be obtained, or the power consumption of the light source can be reduced.
