摘要: Data is received defining a time period during which a notification of receipt should not be provided when an electronic message is received. Data may also be received defining certain types of messages for which notification of receipt should be provided during the time period. During the duration of the time period, no notification of receipt is provided for received electronic messages that are not within one of the specified types. After the time period has elapsed, notification of receipt is provided for electronic messages received during the time period and for which no notification of receipt was previously provided. Electronic messages may be sent during the time period and electronic messages received prior to the time period may be displayed for reading during the time period.

摘要: Methods and systems are provided for increasing application performance and accelerating data communications in a WAN environment. According to one embodiment, a method is provided for securely accelerating network traffic. One or more tunnels are established between a first wide area network (WAN) acceleration device, interposed between a public network and a first local area network (LAN), and a second WAN acceleration device, interposed between a second LAN and the public network. Thereafter, network traffic exchanged between the first LAN and the second LAN is securely accelerated by (i) multiplexing multiple data communication sessions between the first LAN and the second LAN onto the one or more tunnels, (ii) performing one or more of application acceleration, transport acceleration and network acceleration on the data communication sessions and (iii) performing one or more security functions on the data communication sessions.

摘要: Compositions which are useful in ultralow level of detection based on functionalized nanoparticles having exceptional combinations of properties including stability, brightness, binding specificity, and ability to be imaged at single nanoparticle resolution over desired period of time. The biological moieties on the nanoparticles preserve biological function. The nanoparticle surface can comprise a first monolayer component which is adapted to bind to a biological moiety. The biological moiety can be adapted to bind to an analyte. The nanoparticle surface can further comprise a second monolayer component, which is adapted to help expose the first monolayer component on the surface. Other components on the surface can help stabilize the nanoparticle. The nanoparticles are stable against aggregation, have photostability (non-photodecomposition and non-blinking), and can achieve single molecule detection in real time. Analytes can be detected at low levels both in solution and on surfaces such as cell surfaces.

摘要: Disclosed herein is a fibrous tissue sealant in the form of an anhydrous fibrous sheet comprising a first component which is a fibrous polymer containing electrophilic or nucleophilic groups and a second component capable of crosslinking the first component when the sheet is exposed to an aqueous medium, thereby forming a crosslinked hydrogel that is adhesive to biological tissue. The fibrous tissue sealant may be useful as a general tissue adhesive for medical and veterinary applications such as wound closure, supplementing or replacing sutures or staples in internal surgical procedures, tissue repair, and to prevent post-surgical adhesions. The fibrous tissue sealant may be particularly suitable for use as a hemostatic sealant to stanch bleeding from surgical or traumatic wounds.

摘要: The present invention belongs to the field of biomedical material, and is particularly related to a method of preparing bioactive glass coatings by liquid precursor thermal spray. The objective of the present invention is to overcome the shortcomings of the air plasma spraying where the powder feedstock preparation is complicated and time-consuming, and sol-gel or other wet chemistry method where the synthesized coating generally has thin coating thickness and with low production efficiency. Therefore, a new method is provided for preparation of bioactive glass coatings. In this method, organic and inorganic raw materials were first weighed in accordance with the chemical composition of bioactive glasses, and sol or suspension was prepared; then the sol or suspension was used as the feedstock for thermal spray, and was deposited on the biomedical materials substrate, at high temperature to form the bioactive glass coating. The invention possesses the following advantages: simple operation, less complicated procedures, synthesis with high efficiency, low production cost, suitable for industrial production, and so on. This method can be used to prepare bioactive glass coatings.
