One or more refrigeration appliance modules can be refrigeration/storage modules that can provide refrigerated, unconditioned or heated storage space. The central cooling system can be a vapor compression system having a refrigerant circuit connecting the modules. Alternately, the central cooling system can cool a secondary cooling medium circuit. The refrigeration system can also have more than one refrigeration machine providing cooling to the secondary refrigeration loop.

    摘要: A method for assembling a vacuum insulation panel is provided which includes the steps of: loading a quantity of microporous powder into a gas permeable pouch; pressing the pouch into a desired form; sealing the pouch; heating the powder to a temperature elevated above standard room temperature; inserting the pouch into a gas impermeable bag while the pouch and powder remain at the elevated temperature; evacuating gases from the powder pouch while it is at the elevated temperature; evacuating gases from the bag; and sealing the gas evacuated bag with the gas evacuated pouch therein to form a vacuum insulation panel. The heating of the powder may occur only just before insertion of the pouch into the bag, or may occur both before the powder is loaded into the pouch as well as just before insertion of the pouch into the bag. Further, a trace amount of Helium (at a pressure of approximately 1 mm Hg) may be put into the bag before it is sealed in order to permit testing of the sealed panel for leaks.

    摘要: A tube and fin-type evaporator is provided for a refrigerator having trapezoidally shaped fins with the wider portion of the fins disposed upstream in the cooling air flow path through the evaporator. The refrigerant tube passes through at least two rows of openings in these fins, and those openings are staggered and of different length to enhance turbulence and reduce tube shielding within the cooling air flow. Projections (dimples) on the fins adjacent the downstream side of each opening are provided to reduce dead air space downstream from the tube. Further, the openings are provided with collars to increase heat transfer between the fins and the tube. These projections and collars also serve to increase rigidity of the fins. The present invention enables the use of relatively small diameter, thin walled refrigerant tubes within the evaporator. Also, the tubes can be hydraulically expanded within the fins to enhance fin to tube contact and decrease heat transfer resistance.

    摘要: An automatic washer having an improved recirculation system wherein wash liquid is collected in a sump and recirculated onto the clothes load in a first recirculation loop and wash liquid is recirculated from a mixing tank through conduits and a pump back to the mixing tank to effect thorough mixing of the wash liquid. The mixing tank can be selectively connected to the first recirculation loop to direct selected amounts of wash fluid into the wash load, and a sensor is provided to sense the amount of wash fluid in the sump to assure that a sufficient amount of wash fluid is being recirculated into the clothes load.
