    摘要： A process is described for making an aqueous coating composition comprising a cationic vinyl oligomer comprising the following steps: I. preparation of a cationic vinyl oligomer by solution or bulk polymerisation of components: i) 2 to 50 wt % of vinyl monomers bearing amine functional groups selected from the group consisting of non-ionic amine functional groups (a), permanent quaternary ammonium functional groups (b), neutralised amine functional groups (c) and mixtures thereof; and ii) 20 to 98 wt % of Ci to Ci8 alkyl (meth)acrylates; and II. dispersion of the cationic vinyl oligomer in an aqueous medium and neutralisation of non-ionic amine functional groups.

    摘要： Aqueous polymer dispersion containing a water-dispersed polyurethane polymer and a vinyl (preferably acrylic) polymer in a weight ratio of from 30/70 to 5/95, wherein said polyurethane polymer is the reaction product of: A) an isocyanate-terminated polyurethane prepolymer having an acid value of ≧44 mg KOH/g of prepolymer (solids) and formed from reactants comprising an organic polyisocyanate component and an organic poly(isocyanate-reactive) group) component in which the isocyanate-reactive groups are selected from —OH and optionally one or more of —NH2, —NH—, and —SH (usually a polyol), wherein i) at least 70 weight % of said polyisocyanate component is constituted by at least one aliphatic polyisocyanate, ii) said poly(isocyanate-reactive group) component includes at least one acid-bearing poly(isocyanate-reactive group) compound for providing anionic groups which provide or contribute to water-dispersibility, iii) the reactants are used in amounts corresponding to a ratio of isocyanate groups to isocyanate-reactive groups (usually hydroxyl) within the range of 1.4/1 to 2.9/1; and B) an active hydrogen chain-extending compound(s).

    摘要： There is described a formaldehyde-free laminating adhesive, optionally the with less than 3% by weight of co-solvent(s), the adhesive comprising: (I) a polyurethane that comprises from 30% to 65% by weight of hard segments, the polyurethane being obtained and/or obtainable from a first polyurethane dispersion (PUD) comprising the reaction product of (A) an organic isocyanate and (B) at least one chain extender reacting in a respective stoichiometric ratio (NCO to NCO reactive group) from 1:1 to 1:2.5 and; optionally the NCO reactive group(s) of the chain extender comprises one or more hydrazinyl-like group(s) (denoting isocyanate reactive groups selected from the group comprising, preferably consisting of: —NRNR2 (hydrazinyl groups); —CONRNR2 (hydrazidyl groups), —NRCONRNR2 (semicarbazidyl groups); and —ONR2 (oxyamine groups), where each R is independently selected from H or C1-10hydrocarbo); and (II) optionally a second polymer obtained and/or obtainable from a polymer precursor comprising at least one unsaturated moiety, preferably an ethylenically unsaturated group, and where optionally the second polymer may be iminated; with the provisos that: (α) when the first polyurethane does not comprise hydrazinyl-like group(s) then the second polymer is iminated; and (β) when the second polymer is un-iminated or is absent then the first polyurethane comprises hydrazinyl-like group(s). These adhesives may be used to adhere surface veneers to wood and/or to laminate the layers within plywood.
