摘要: A method of recycling a polymer structure includes converting a first polymer structure into feedstock. The first polymer structure comprises particles that are bonded to one another by chemical click bonds to form a first shape. The first polymer structure is converted into feedstock particles by breaking the click bonds. The feedstock particles are formed into a second shape, and the feedstock particles are chemically click-bonded together to form a second polymer structure having a second shape. Breaking the click bonds may include heating the particles. The structures may be formed by causing first particles having dienes to chemically bond to dienophiles of second particles.

摘要: In one or more embodiments, the present invention provides a method for forming allyl telechelic polyisobutylene polymers having well defined molecular weights and molecular weight distributions using living cationic polymerization under ideal temperature control using a mixture of polar and nonpolar refluxing solvents. The methods according to various embodiments of the present invention provide temperature control that approaches the ideal, i.e., the heat of polymerization is instantaneously absorbed by the medium and the temperature of the system remains unchanged. The heat generated during the exothermic polymerization of isobutylene is released as an increase in the rate of reflux, rather than the temperature, since the temperature is set by the boiling point of the system and does not change.

摘要: A method for producing a thermoplastic elastomer includes forming a first block by copolymerizing a C4-C7 isoolefin monomer and alkylstyrene in the presence of a polymerization initiator; and forming a second block by polymerizing aromatic vinyl monomers. The thermoplastic elastomer comprises the first block and the second block. An amount of unreacted portion of the alkylstyrene during the formation of the first block is maintained at a molar ratio of not more than 1/90 relative to a total amount of the isoolefin monomer. The alkylstyrene is represented by the general formula (1), and the polymerization initiator is represented by the general formula (2).

摘要: The present application relates to an encapsulant for a PV module, a method of manufacturing the same and a PV module. The encapsulant according to an embodiment of the present application has excellent heat resistance or the like and improved creep physical properties, and thus even when the encapsulant is used under conditions of a high temperature and/or high humidity for a long time, deformation is small and the encapsulant can exhibit excellent adhesive strength. Accordingly, when the encapsulant is applied to a PV module, durability or the like may be improved.

摘要: The present invention relates to novel hydroxyl-terminated polyisobutylenes and methods of making and using them. The hydroxyl-terminated polyisobutylenes contain a sulfur unit, —S—, within each terminal end group. The well-defined, sulfur containing, primary hydroxyl-terminated polyisobutylenes of the present invention can be simply, rapidly, and essentially quantitatively obtained by subjecting the unsaturated telechelic PIBs and mercapto alcohols to UV light-activated thiol-ene reactions. The resultant sulfur containing, primary hydroxyl-terminated polyisobutylenes can then be used in the production of polyurethanes and like materials.
