Abstract:
A first data is written to a removable storage medium at a target device. A request is received to eject the removable storage medium from the target device, wherein the removable storage medium is not ejected from the target device. The first data on the removable storage medium is copied to a storage location. The removable storage medium is presented as a new removable storage medium having been inserted into the target device.
Abstract:
An auxiliary coolant system, for a fuel cell stack system, includes a reversible coolant pump, a control valve, and plumbing lines. The pump enables the reversal of the coolant flow direction in the fuel cell stack system. The auxiliary coolant system is in parallel with the primary coolant system, and communicates with the primary coolant system via valves. During start-up, when coolant flow is from right-to-left through the fuel cell stack system, one valve of the primary coolant system will be partly open and control the amount of cold coolant make-up from the primary coolant system to the fuel cell stack while the valve of the auxiliary coolant system will be controlling the temperature differential between the inlet and outlet of the stack.
Abstract:
The empty vs. non-empty status of a cargo container is detected based on boundary analysis of a wide-angle image obtained by a monocular vision system. The wide-angle image is warped to remove distortion created by the vision system optics, and the resulting image is edge-processed to identify the boundaries of the container floor. If package boundaries are detected within the floor space, or a large foreground package is blocking the floor boundaries, the cargo status is set to non-empty. If floor boundaries are detected and no package boundaries are detected within the floor space, the cargo status is set to empty.
Abstract:
Techniques for the design and use of a digital signal processor, including (but not limited to) for processing transmissions in a communications (e.g., CDMA) system. Reduced glitch occurs in switching from a first clock input to a second clock input driving a clock multiplexer. The clock multiplexer receives a first clock input and provides a clock output and determines a low phase output level in the clock output in response to a low phase input level in the first clock output. For a limited period of time, a low phase output level is forced irrespective of the phase level of the first clock input signal. The clock multiplexer receives a second clock input and determines a low phase input level in the second clock input signal. Switching to providing the clock output in response to the second clock input occurs during the low phase input level in the second clock input signal. Then, the output of the clock multiplexer follows the phase level of the second clock signal.

The present invention relates to compounds having the general formula (I) with the definitions of X, Y, R1, R2, R3, R4, R9, R10 given below, and solvates, hydrates, esters, and pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof. Furthermore the invention relates to the use of said compounds for the treatment of Alzheimer's disease and their use for the modulation of γ-secretase activity.
Abstract:
Establishing a secure connection on behalf of a mobile station is disclosed. An identifier associated with a mobile station is obtained. The identifier and a secret data not associated with the mobile station are used to establish on behalf of the mobile station a secure connection to a generic access network element configured to provide connectivity to a core mobile network.
Abstract:
Managing packet data network jitter is disclosed. A first call data associated with a mobile network communication session is received. A second call data that is older than the first call data is dropped from a buffer if required to make room in the buffer for the first call data.
Abstract:
A system and method for determining the internal temperature of a fuel cell stack during stack start-up so as to start a cooling fluid flow before the internal temperature of the stack rises above a temperature that might damage the fuel cells within the stack. The system and method include determining an initial temperature from either an ambient temperature sensor or a sensor in the cooling fluid manifold in the stack, measuring the voltage of the stack and the current from the stack, and from these values determining the waste heat from the stack to determine its temperature. If hydrogen is sent to the cathode side of the stack during the start-up, then the system and method also include determining the flow rate of the hydrogen.
Abstract:
An automatic frequency correction (AFC) apparatus used for CDMA multipath fading channels comprises a frequency-offset evaluator, an automatic frequency correction loop filter and a carrier frequency adjuster. The present invention provides a “multipath energy window” designing method for the non-determinacy of multipath signals in mobile communication environment. Frequency-offset information can be extracted from the multipath energy window by a simple calculation and evaluated by a maximal SNR weight process. This invention also provides a step-variable accumulation adjusting method and greatly improves the response speed of the AFC apparatus as compared with a conventional loop filter, whereby supplies better AFC required for CDMA mobile terminals.
Abstract:
In one embodiment, a brightness enhancement film comprises: a diffusing film comprising a front surface and a back surface, a coating on the front surface, and light redirecting structures disposed in the coating. The brightness enhancement film is capable of collimating light, and wherein, without the coating, the diffusing film would be capable of spread light passing through the back surface. In another embodiment, the brightness enhancement film comprises: a diffusing film comprising a front surface and a back surface, a coating on the front surface, and light redirecting structures disposed in the coating. The diffusing film has a stress retardation gradient of less than or equal to 50 nm/in, wherein an interval for calculation of the stress retardation gradient is less than 1 inch. The brightness enhancement film is capable of collimating light.
