    摘要: A developing apparatus for an image forming apparatus includes a developing roller for carrying a magnetic developer; a developing device frame, having an opening for exposing a part of the developing roller, for rotatably supporting the developing roller; a magnetic sealing member, mounted to the developing device frame at a longitudinal end portion, for sealing a gap between the developing device frame and the developing roller against leakage of the magnetic developer, wherein the magnetic sealing member includes an arcuate surface which has a magnetic property and which is opposed to an outer surface of the developing roller with a gap therebetween and a projected surface which has a magnetic property and which is projected from an upstream end of the arcuate surface toward upstream with respect to a peripheral moving direction of the developing roller and which is remoter from an outer surface of the developing roller than the arcuate surface; a sheet for preventing the magnetic developer from leaking through between the developing device frame and the developing roller, the sheet being mounted to an upstream end of the developing device frame with respect to the moving direction and contacted to the developing roller so as to cover at least a part of the projected surface.

    摘要: A liquid crystal display device using columnar spacers to eliminate an influence of shades in rubbing an orientation film and to eliminate remaining of display unevenness (black haze) in black display is provided. Columnar spacers are provided above a black matrix of an opposite substrate disposed opposite to a TFT substrate. A position of a top of each columnar spacer in contact with the TFT substrate is shifted from a center of a gate line of the TFT substrate toward a common line parallel to the gate line. Moreover, a structure is adopted, in which the top of the columnar spacer contacting with the TFT substrate is not entirely brought into contact with the TFT substrate, but a gap is provided between a part of the top of the columnar spacer and the TFT substrate by providing an irregular surface on the top of the columnar spacer or the like. This gap can reduce frictional force between the top of the columnar spacer and the TFT substrate to result in restricting an occurrence of the black haze when external force is applied to a screen of the liquid crystal display device.

When no electric field is applied, liquid crystal molecules in the first and second auxiliary regions are directed in respective orientations that lie at 90° with respect to each other. When a voltage is applied, the liquid crystal molecules are rotated in the same direction while maintaining their orientations in the first and second auxiliary regions at 90° with respect to each other. Alternatively, the liquid crystal molecules in the first and second auxiliary regions are directed in the same orientation when no electric field is applied, and when a voltage is applied, the liquid crystal molecules are rotated 15 opposite directions while maintaining their orientations in symmetric relationship.

    摘要: An in-plane switching mode active matrix type liquid crystal display device includes a first substrate, a second substrate located opposing the first substrate, and a liquid crystal layer sandwiched between the first and second substrates. The first substrate includes a thin film transistor, a pixel electrode each associated to a pixel to be driven, a common electrode to which a reference voltage is applied, data lines, a scanning line, and common electrode lines. Molecular axes of liquid crystal are rotated in a plane parallel with the first substrate by an electric field substantially parallel with a plane of the first substrate to thereby display certain images. The common electrode is composed of transparent material and are formed on a layer located closer to the liquid crystal layer than the data lines. The common electrode entirely overlaps the data lines except an area where the data lines are located in the vicinity of the scanning line. The liquid crystal display device further includes a light-impermeable layer in an area where the common electrode entirely overlaps the data lines. The light-impermeable layer is comprised of a black matrix layer having a width smaller than a width of the common electrode.
