    摘要: An optical network system is disclosed by which flexible wavelength path setting can be performed in accordance with tree-shaped and star-shaped network topology. A central node includes a multiplexing section for multiplexing optical signals transmitted from user nodes and inputted thereto, and a central node side branching section for branching the optical signal multiplexed by the multiplexing section and supplying the branched optical signals to the user nodes. Each of the user nodes includes a transmission section capable of outputting an optical signal to which transmission wavelengths different from those of the other user nodes are set, and a reception section for extracting selected optical wavelength components from the branched light supplied thereto from the central node side branching section and extracting optical signals from the extracted optical wavelength components.

    摘要: A drop-type AOTF is used as a configuration for removing from a through signal an optical signal having the same wavelength as that of an optical signal to be added. To the drop-type AOTF, RF signals are input to always select all of wavelengths, and an RF signal is not input for a wavelength desired to be rejected. As a result, the optical signal having the wavelength for which the RF signal is stopped is not selected by the drop-type AOTF, and cannot pass through. Since there is only one RF signal whose input is stopped, a “drawing effect” does not occur, and control of an optical add/drop device is simplified. Additionally, since high-speed switching can be made, and a wavelength to be added can be varied, restrictions are not imposed on a network configuration.

    摘要: The present invention has an object to provide a control method and a control apparatus for a variable wavelength optical filter, which can reliably and stably control drive conditions of the variable wavelength optical filter, independent of the number of wavelengths to be selectively separated in collective. To this end, the control apparatus for a variable wavelength optical filter according to the present invention comprises: a light reception section that takes out to receive, in collective, monitor light corresponding to each optical signal selectively separated by the variable wavelength optical filter, and creates a monitor signal a level of which is changed corresponding to the power of the received monitor light; an alternating current component extraction section that extracts an alternating current component of the monitor signal generated by the light reception section; and a tracking control section that controls the drive condition of the variable wavelength optical filter based on a level change in the alternating current component extracted by the alternating current component extraction section.

    摘要: An optical amplification apparatus includes a front-stage semiconductor optical amplifier which amplifies an input light and a rear-stage semiconductor optical amplifier which amplifies an amplified light outputted from the front-stage semiconductor optical amplifier. The front-stage semiconductor optical amplifier exercises auto level control of an output light by exercising variable control of driving current which flows according to applied voltage higher than light emitting threshold voltage of an internal optical amplification element. The rear-stage semiconductor optical amplifier performs gate switching of a transmitted light by exercising switching control of driving current. By doing so, distortion of a waveform is controlled and optical communication quality can be improved.
