Abstract: A client application sends an application programming interface call to an interface of a content management system. The call specifies one or more content item search criteria. Sending the call causes the content management system to perform a lookup in a content item index to identify at least one content item that satisfies the one or more content item search criteria. Based on sending the call, the client application receives from the content management system a suggestion to attach the at least one content item to a text being displayed by at the computing system.

Abstract: The present technology is a backup service that can provide a menu of collaboration options that can be selected within the backup service for implementation by a synchronization service. In such an embodiment, when a user selects a collaboration option from the menu of collaboration options in the backup service, the backup service can call the synchronization service to copy the backup object into the synchronization service and implement the selected collaboration option. This can provide a benefit of reducing the number of user interfaces that need to be displayed and interacted with in order to carry out the intent of the user to offer a copy of the backup object for collaboration. The present technology also provides improved user interfaces.

Abstract: The present disclosure is directed toward systems, methods, and non-transitory computer readable media for generating contextual hubs for organizing and presenting web-accessible content from third-party sources. In particular, the systems described herein can organize and manage within a contextual hub. For instance, the disclosed systems may perform actions on tabs based on analyzing usage signals associated with the tabs. Furthermore, the disclosed systems can organize contextually related content within contextual hubs. The disclosed systems may also facilitate collaboration between users within a contextual hub by synchronizing interactions with content within a contextual hub.

Abstract: Disclosed are systems, methods, and non-transitory computer-readable storage media for managing project tasks using content items. A user can create tasks within a content item. The tasks can be assigned to users and/or be assigned due dates. The content item can be shared with other users such that updates to the content item (e.g., updates to the tasks) can cause sending notifications to users associated with the content item. When a task in the content item is updated, all members of the project can be notified of the updated status of the task. A task list for a project can be created that aggregates tasks from multiple content items associated with the project. Tasks can be organized in the task list according to the content item the task was created in. Updates to tasks in the task list can cause corresponding updates to the tasks in the content items.

Abstract: The present technology provides an improved search interface that provides suggested search terms in a variety of categories. The suggested search terms are first presented in an “empty search state” i.e., before the user has entered any search terms. And the suggested search terms are repeatedly refined as the user provides inputs into the search interface until a number of search results are few enough that the interface provides search results. The present technology also provides improved search suggestions. In particular, the present technology utilizes predictive algorithms including machine learning algorithms to intelligently provide suggested search terms in the variety of categories.

Abstract: Techniques are disclosed for allowing remote participation in collaborative video review based on joint state data, for a video collaboration session, maintained by a video collaboration service. A user at a participant client device may provide one or more annotations, such as a drawing annotation, for the video data via a client application. The client application transmits computer-readable instructions for re-creating the drawing annotation to the service, which distributes the drawing instructions to the other participant client devices. Using the drawing instructions, the client applications at the client devices are configured to re-create the drawing annotation on the associated video frame displayed at the client devices. The joint state data communicated to client devices for a given session may include co-presence data that efficiently increases communication among the participants in a session. Co-presence data received by a participant client device may be depicted in a GUI of the client application.

Abstract: Systems and methods for integrating a messaging client application with a content management system are provided. In some examples, a method can include receiving messaging content at a content management system from a messaging client application via an application programming interface, the content management system and the messaging client application being on different cloud-based systems. The method can include associating the messaging content with a workspace in the content management system, the workspace including a plurality of users that are authorized to access the workspace to collaborate with each of the plurality of users. The method can further include providing access to the messaging content to the plurality of users that are authorized to access the workspace of the content management system. The method also can include embedding the messaging content in the workspace of the content management system.

Abstract: Systems and methods for creating and accessing content items are provided. In some examples, a method can include receiving a user selection of an interface element located in a persistent user interface of an operating system desktop of a client device associated with a user account, identifying, based on a query to a meeting service, a meeting associated with the user account, displaying, in response to the user selection of the interface element, a set of user options for the meeting, the set of user options comprising an option to access a content item for the meeting, receiving a user selection of the option to access the content item for the meeting, and accessing, in response to the user selection, the content item.

Abstract: The present disclosure is directed toward systems, methods, and non-transitory computer readable media for generating and providing synthetic visualizations representative of content collections within a content management system. In some cases, the disclosed systems generate a synthetic visualization based on content features that indicate relevance of content items with respect to a user account to emphasize more relevant content items within the synthetic visualization and/or to represent descriptive content attributes of the content items. For example, the disclosed systems can generate a synthetic phrase that represents a content collection and can further generate a synthetic visualization from the synthetic phrase utilizing a synthetic visualization machine learning model.

Abstract: The present disclosure is directed toward systems, methods, and non-transitory computer readable media for generating and maintaining tokenized assets associated with a user account of a content management system. In particular, the disclosed systems can facilitate generating tokenized assets from content items within a content management system. In addition, the disclosed systems can identify tokenized assets associated with a user account within a content management system for facilitating access to gated content. For example, the disclosed systems can generate and provide a digital passport that serves as a centralized location for accessing and managing tokenized assets associated with a user account.
