Abstract: In some implementations, a wireless sensing system may receive sensor data associated with an asset. The sensor data may be associated with a tampering event and the tampering event may include an action performed on the asset. The wireless sensing system may further determine whether the tampering event is performed by an authorized user of the wireless sensing system. The wireless sensing system may further determine whether the tampering event is performed within an authorized location of the wireless sensing system. The wireless sensing system may transmit a notification to a user of the wireless sensing system. The notification may alert the user of the wireless sensing system that the tampering event has occurred.

Abstract: A method for tracking assets in areas of interest includes receiving, by a first node of a wireless sensing system, a first communication and a second communication by a tape node associated with a mobile asset and receiving, by a second node of the wireless sensing system, the first communication and the second communication by the tape node associated with the mobile asset. A direction of movement of the tape node associated with the mobile asset is computed, the direction of movement based at least in part on respective signal strengths of the first communication and the second communication as received by the first node and the second node. Based on the direction of movement, a most likely path of the tape node is determined.

Abstract: A system is disclosed for tracking and monitoring sets of assets in or on a container using RFID-RF tags associated with the assets. The system comprises a specimen holder bin or similar container and a wireless tag affixed to the specimen holder bin. The specimen bin holder is configured to hold a plurality of assets. The wireless tag comprises a radio frequency identifier (RFID) circuit, a radio frequency (RF) circuit, a processor, a memory storing an identifier (ID) associated with the RFID circuit, and an energy source electrically connected to the RFID circuit, the RF circuit, and the processor. The wireless tag is configured to broadcast the identifier associated with the RFID circuit responsive to an interrogation signal by one or more gateways associated with the system. In some embodiments, each asset of the plurality of assets additionally comprises an RFID tag.

Abstract: A wireless sensing system includes a first tape node and a second tape node. The first tape node has a low-power wireless-communications interface and an environmental sensor operable to capture and transmit a first set of environmental data of at least one environmental characteristic to the second tape node. The second node includes an environmental sensor, a low-power wireless-communication interface, a first processor, and a first memory communicatively coupled with the first processor, the first memory storing machine-readable instructions that, when executed by the first processor, cause the first processor to: capture a second set of environmental data; compute an environmental differential between the first set of environmental data and the second set of environmental data; compare the environmental differential to a predetermined environmental threshold; and transmit a notification to a client application of the wireless sensing system running on a client device of the wireless sensing system when the environmental differential exceeds the predetermined environmental threshold.
