摘要： An apparatus for simulating athletic running, throwing and swinging movements and for exercising and strengthening leg, arm, wrist, shoulder and back muscles used in such athletic movements. The apparatus is operated by the athlete and utilizes the athlete's body as a fulcrum to develop rotational motion such as arises in running, pitching, throwing and swinging motions. The exercise apparatus has an elongated rigid tubular member, with an attached hand grip at one end thereof. An exercise grip member is attached by an elastic cord to the opposing end of the tubular member and is used by the athlete to exercise the throwing/swinging arm or leg. Simulation of actual throwing and swinging motion, with greater freedom of movement on the part of the athlete during such exercises may be carried out with the device.

摘要： This invention relates to a batting practice apparatus which includes an elongated axial rod which is particularly adapted to be gripped by an operator. An axle is fixed to one end of the rod. The axle is substantially parallel to the axis of the rod. A plate is mounted on the axle. The plate has a circular outer periphery. A swivel is movably mounted on the axle and has a portion engageble with the plate. A flexible line is connected to the swivel. A ball has a radial aperture contained therein, which aperture has an enlarged portion adjacent to one surface. The line has a portion positioned in the radial aperture. A metallic holding plate is mounted in the radial aperture. The holding plate has a rope aperture in its center. The line extends through the rope aperture in the holding plate and has a second portion in the enlarged aperture for securing the ball to the line. The line has a length more than two times greater than the length of the rod.

The disc and ring are confined between a pair of annular members so that the tether extends outwardly therebetween. Indicia may be provided between the core and at least one annular member and which are visual therethrough. The indicia may be shifted relative to the tether connection point during ball swinging, thus providing an additional challenge to the operator.

摘要： A baseball batting aid for use in increasing the proficiency of a batter to hit different types of pitched balls. The aid includes a conventional cork center baseball having a diametrically extending hole of a first diameter drilled therethrough with one end thereof counterbored. A cord is received through the hole and a metal sleeve member with a backup member is inserted into a counterbore of the hole so that the knotted end of the cord can be pulled back into the counterbore of the hole. A patch covers the opening of the counterbore.

The apparatus may further include a placement means. The elongated member includes a lower end, an upper end, and a body portion. The weighted element has an attachment point, and is movable from a starting position to an ending position. The flexible joining means includes a first end, a second end, and an intermediate portion. The flexible joining means has a predetermined length, is secured about upper end of elongated member, has second end that is secured at attachment point of weighted element, and is movable from a starting position to an ending position. The method includes the steps of: placing the apparatus, balancing on pitching leg, taking an extended stride or lunge toward target, and explosively rotating upper torso rotationally downward.
