Abstract: A hands-free human exercise apparatus and method, including a method of use. The stretching apparatus and method promote beneficial stretching of ambulatory muscles for a broad spectrum of users, to maintain and increase flexibility and dexterity, improved joint health, mobility, or pain management, and facilitating greater balance and proprioception and stimulating rehabilitation. The apparatus includes a multi-directional, multi-configurable, and adjustable harness comprising a one or dual strap configuration having a unique multi-joint activating foot anchor. The apparatus and method facilitate stretching of a single leg, or both legs, through the ambulatory chain of muscles and joints, and with the foot anchor exploiting the flexion of the spine, full extension of the leg and pelvis, and the full flexion of the user's foot.

Abstract: A system for quantification of exercise and physical therapy includes an anchoring module and an electronics module. The anchoring module is removably attached to an object (e.g., a flexible resistive band) or equipped with a clamping mechanism for removably securing the object. The anchoring module also includes an anchoring-module coupling fixture. At least one of the modules includes a sensor (e.g., a force sensor) configured to generate a signal representative of a user's performance during exercise or physical therapy; a processor configured to receive signals from the force sensor; a computer storage medium storing software code and in communication with the processor, wherein the software code includes instruction for processing the signals from the force sensor to quantify the performance; and at least one electronics-module coupling fixture configured to secure the electronics module to the anchoring module coupling fixture.

Abstract: Devices and methods are disclosed for remote clinical monitoring performance of exercises using a smart resistance exercise device including a resistance band, a first handle connected to a first end of the resistance band and a second handle connected to a second end of the resistance band, a force sensing assembly operably coupled to the resistance band, and a local receiving device communicatively coupled to the force sensing assembly. The force sensing assembly of the device includes a housing, and a force sensor disposed in the housing and operatively connected to the resistance band to measure a force exerted on the resistance band. The force sensing assembly also includes a processing and communication module communicatively coupled to the force sensor to receive measurements of the force sensor and communicatively coupled to the local receiving device to transmit the measurements to the local receiving device.

Abstract: A knee pain reduction strap device is described. The device is configured to be used by a user alone who is experiencing knee pain. A primary strap is configured to be placed beneath the arch of the foot while a secondary strap, disposed atop the primary strap, helps to provide additional friction, and ensure that the device remains in position. Handles disposed on ends of the primary strap facilitate manipulation of the device by the user while in a sitting position to perform stretches of the ankle, calf, shin, and knee of the user, helping to alleviate pain over time.

Abstract: A device to strengthen a person's arm muscles through the utilization of a portable device including a handle portion and a weight component with the two components separated by a flexible rod is provided. Such a device allows for the user to grip the handle portion and act as if they are throwing such a handle portion while the weight end moves along an arc defined through the length of the flexible rod. The resultant action is the generation of centripetal force along the defined arc with the reactive centrifugal force providing resistance to the user's arm muscles in a manner that is unique and heretofore unattainable through the utilization of a portable exercise device. The flexible rod component provides at least 1 foot (100 cm) of spacing between the handle portion and the weight portion.

Abstract: An isometric-exercise towel for use in performing isometric exercises, including a layer of moisture-absorbent material having four corners, and a thick pile having moisture-wicking characteristics, a hand/foot-insertable aperture formed in each of the four corners of the isometric-exercise towel. The perimeter of each hand/foot-insertable aperture is reinforced with double stitching, and a reinforced stitching pattern is formed between pairs of hand/foot-insertable apertures formed on opposing ends of the isometric-exercise towel. The hand and/or foot of a person using the isometric-exercise towel, or both hands and/or feet of the person, can be inserted within any one or more of the hand/foot-insertable apertures formed in the isometric-exercise towel so as to perform one or more isometric exercises by the person using his or her hands and/or feet to exert forces against the side inner perimeter surfaces of the hand/foot-insertable apertures of the isometric-exercise towel in an outwardly and isometric manner.

Abstract: A fitness apparatus and a method for assembly are disclosed. The fitness apparatus comprises a wheel assembly that includes a first circular side parallel to a second circular side, both bounded by a curved tread. Within the wheel assembly is an enclosable storage chamber. The fitness apparatus also includes an axis perpendicular to the first circular side and the second circular side, and when the fitness apparatus is in an abdominal exercise wheel configuration, at least a portion of the wheel assembly rotates around the axis. The fitness apparatus also includes a centerbore along the axis that supports a first removable handle and a second removable handle when the fitness apparatus is in the abdominal exercise wheel configuration.

The second platform is connected to the first platform using a connector under tension to retract the second platform towards the first platform.
