Abstract:
A wrapper for a floral grouping comprising a first and a second sheet of material. The first sheet of material is constructed of a polymer film, metal foil, fabric, denim, cellophane or burlap. The second sheet of material is constructed of a paper. At least one of the first and the second sheets of material includes a closure bonding material on at least one of the upper and lower surfaces of such sheet of material. The second sheet of material is disposed adjacent the first sheet of material and the two sheets of material then are wrapped about the floral grouping with the closure bonding material bondingly engaging a portion of at least one of the first and the second sheets of material for cooperating to secure the first and the second sheets of material in a wrapped condition about the floral grouping to form the wrapper. The first or the second sheets of material, in one form, includes spots of connecting bonding material or raised portions for forming spaces between the first and the second sheets of material for insulation.
Abstract:
A wrapping material comprising a sheet of material such as paper, cellophane, foil, or man-made organic polymer film and a cling material such as polyethylene secured to a portion of the sheet of material. The cling material connects to the sheet of material and/or itself as the wrapping material is wrapped about a flower pot thereby securing the sheet of material about the flower pot. A method of wrapping a flower pot by wrapping the flower pot with the wrapping material.
Abstract:
Sheets and rolls of sheets with detachable labels and having a closure bonding material for securing the sheets around items to be wrapped. Spots of closure bonding material may be placed on the detachable labels to hold the detachable labels in a wrapped position. The detachable labels may contain graphical, narrative and bar code information related to pricing, inventory, sales display, product description and care instructions. The sheets may also include detachable sleeves for protecting wrapped items during shipping and handle areas which may be punched out of the sheets for grasping the wrapped items. The handle areas may also contain information similar to that on the detachable labels. Sheets having detachable labels may also be used for forming flower pots or flower pot covers. By providing such labels on the unformed sheets, it is not necessary to add tags or labels after the sheets are formed into flower pots or flower pot covers.
Abstract:
A method for providing a protective wrapper about a vase containing a floral grouping. A connecting bonding material and a closure bonding material are disposed on the sheet. The sheet is wrapped about the vase causing the connecting bonding material to connect the sheet to the vase. The closure bonding material is sealed above the floral grouping to enclose the floral grouping within the sheet of material. The sheet may have a second closure bonding material for effecting a vertically sealed area in the sheet.
Abstract:
An article forming system for forming at least one sheet of material into an article, such as a basket liner, and a novel basket liner formed utilizing such a system.
Abstract:
A wrapping material for wrapping a floral grouping comprising a plurality of sheets of material connected together into a pad of sheets of material via staggered strips of adhesive disposed on each sheet of material in the pad. The pad has a top sheet of material and a next sheet of material disposed thereunder, the other sheets of material being disposed under the next sheet of material. The floral grouping is placed on a sheet of the material, and the sheet of material is wrapped about a portion of the floral grouping and simultaneously disconnected from the pad of sheets of material. The sheets of material are secured about the floral grouping in a wrapped position by the staggered strips of adhesive on each sheet of material.
Abstract:
A wrapping material for wrapping a floral group comprised of a pad of sheets of material. Each sheet of material has adhesive unevenly disposed across the upper surface of the material with the amount of adhesive being greater near one end of the adhesive than near the other end of the adhesive. Methods of wrapping the floral grouping with the wrapping material.
Abstract:

Abstract:
A method and apparatus for covering portions of an object having an outer peripheral surface with a sheet of material having an upper surface and a lower surface with a pressure sensitive adhesive on at least a portion of the lower surface by wrapping the sheet of material about portions of the outer peripheral surface and positioning the sheet of material so that the pressure sensitive coating either contacts portions of the outer peripheral surface of the object and is bonded thereto or contacts overlapping portions of the sheet of material and is bonded to other adjacent portions of the sheet of material having the pressure sensitive coating thereon or overlapping portions of the sheet of material are bonded by the pressure sensitive adhesive.
Abstract:
For sealing off overpressure valves of packaging containers, a small quantity of liquid sealant is introduced into a valve. To check whether such valve has been equipped with sealant, the sealant is heated, prior to introduction into the valve, to a temperature that is elevated compared with ambient temperature. After that the valve is checked for a temperature difference with a heat sensor, which causes valves not equipped with sealant to be rejected. The sealant is heated immediately prior to its application to a valve, in a nozzle delivering it.
