Abstract: The invention is directed to a venting device for admitting air into an enclosed container such as a railway car during discharge of material from the container. The device includes a securing member having an interlock for releasably retaining a replaceable filter member that is adapted to admit air into the container. The mounting member is adapted for mounting in an opening in the container member. A securing member has a one way interlook with the mounting member which may be overridden for disassembly and a releasable interlock with the filter member.

Abstract: A work machine, such as a skid steer loader or a compact track loader, includes an air intake assembly for a heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) unit. A conduit integrated into a structure supporting a roof over an operator cab accepts air and water from the atmosphere through an air inlet proximate the roof. A debris outlet downstream in the conduit allows gravity to return the water to the environment. Between the air inlet and the debris outlet, an orifice in the conduit connects to an air duct through which the air may be diverted by suction from the HVAC unit. An air filter at the end of the air duct removes remaining particulates from the air prior to conditioning by the HVAC unit. Sizing the cross-sectional areas of the air path to exceed a cross-sectional area of an inlet to the air filter and providing a substantially straight air path avoids resistance to air flow, resulting in efficient intake of cleaner air.

Abstract: An air vent for a vehicle or vehicle canopy includes an external and an internal duct. The external duct has an inlet and an outlet. The height of the outlet is less than that of the inlet. The inlet and the outlet are arranged such that, in use, an uppermost point of the inlet is located above an uppermost point of the outlet. The internal duct is in fluid communication with the external duct via one or more openings arranged in the internal duct or at a junction between the internal duct and the external duct. Abstract: A smart multi-modal vehicular air filtration management system including a first filter element and a second filter element disposed in a fresh air housing, wherein the fresh air housing has an inlet and an outlet. Additionally, a third filter element is provided which is disposed in a cabin housing, the cabin housing having one or more inlet. A fluid channel arranged between the fresh air and cabin housing. Finally, a diverter is included which is disposed near an outlet of the fresh air housing, wherein the diverter is configured to cause air to flow through the fresh air housing selectively through one or both of the first filter element and the second filter element.

Abstract: An HVAC system for a work vehicle having an operator cab includes a first chamber having an for receiving airflow exterior of the cab. The inlet is adjacent to a first source for moving air for use independent of the HVAC system, the inlet arranged to cause a first change of direction of airflow inside the first chamber. Abstract: An cooling system and method for a work vehicle in which atmospheric air is pre-cleaned prior to flowing it over a heat exchanger and then exhausted back into the surrounding atmosphere. At least one fan draws atmospheric air having particulate content into at least one pre-cleaner where the atmospheric air is pre-cleaned to produce pre-cleaned air with a reduced particulate content. The pre-cleaned air is then drawn into a chamber, flowed over or through the heat exchanger contained in the chamber, and exhausted from the chamber to the surrounding atmosphere.
