Abstract:
A stowable video display system is provided for mounting in a passenger compartment of a vehicle, the display unit including a base, a display screen, a pivotal coupling structure, a first position-fixing member and a second position-fixing member. The display screen is pivotally coupled to the base, and is pivotal between a stowed position in which the screen is not visible to a viewer, and a deployed position in which the screen is visible to a viewer. The deployed position is selected from positions within a continuous range of possible deployed positions. The pivotal coupling pivotally couples the screen to the base, and includes a dampening mechanism adapted to dampen the deployment of the screen. The first position-fixing member is on the base. The second position-fixing member is on the pivotal coupling structure, and is adapted to contact the first position-fixing member when the screen is deployed to hold the screen in any position within the continuous range of possible deployed positions.
Abstract:
A display device is arranged such that a hinge cover 26 for covering a hinge mechanism 17 that supports a shaft 13 of a display 3 in a display device 1 with a bracket 14 is formed integral with an inner cover 12 of a display device main body 2.
Abstract:
An overhead console for a vehicle includes a substrate formed of a substantially clear material configured to provide a conduit for light. The substrate has a first surface and an opposite second surface. The overhead console also includes a first film layer coupled to the first surface of the substrate. The first film layer has a first portion simulating a first component of the overhead console and a second portion simulating a second component of the overhead console. The overhead console further includes a second film layer coupled to the second surface of the substrate. The second film layer is configured to cooperate with the first film layer to affect the appearance of at least one of the first component and second component.
Abstract:
A rain shielding device for an automobile includes an umbrella holder, an umbrella cloth, and a power accumulator. The umbrella holder includes a first edge column mounted on a vehicle door, a second edge column mounted on a vehicle body, a plurality of main umbrella sticks between the first edge column and the second edge column, and two interlock members. The umbrella cloth is covered on the umbrella holder. The power accumulator includes a movable member, a plurality of auxiliary umbrella sticks, and an energy-storing member. The interlock members move the movable member when the vehicle door opens, and then the movable member interacts with the auxiliary umbrella sticks to push the main umbrella sticks and umbrella cloth unfolding. The energy-storing member stores energy when the umbrella cloth unfolds and releases energy when the vehicle door is closed; thus provides an auxiliary force when the umbrella cloth folds/unfolds.
Abstract:
A power transmission device capable of adjusting a torque to be applied to an output shaft easily and removing a backlash between gears exactly, and a display device and a display panel pedestal that have the power transmission device. A power transmission device 101 includes a display panel 102, an output shaft 103 to which the display panel is connected, output gears 104 and 105 rotating integrally with the output shaft, transmission gears 106 and 107 engaged with the respective output gears, motors 108 and 109 providing driving forces to the respective transmission gears, and a control circuit 110 controlling the motors. The control circuit 110 causes the motors 108 and 109 to rotate the transmission gears 106 and 107 at different rotation numbers, and to transmit different driving forces to the respective output gears 104 and 105. The output shaft 103 receives not only a torque on a rotation direction side, but also a torque on a side opposite to the rotation direction, whereby the occurrence of play due to the direction change of a weight torque of the display panel 102 is suppressed.
Abstract:
This case concerns applications of my Reconfigurable Tactile Display (RTD) invention, particularly illustrating method and apparatus in which there is no rigid connection between a projector/electro-optical sensor unit, and a screen and control surface unit used to display data and receive user touch or control inputs. In many embodiments, elimination of this rigid connection constraint allows applications where heretofore it has been difficult to provide workable or useful human interface systems. One example is in the headrest of an automobile, while another is a hospital bed where the invention provides a lightweight and very easy to clean input and viewing device for the patient.
Abstract:
