摘要: An aqueous iron sulfide dissolver including zinc, chromium, a methoxybenzoic acid, formic acid, acetic acid, and hydrochloric acid. The iron sulfide dissolver is made by combining these components, and dissolves compounds including iron sulfide upon contact. Evolved hydrogen sulfide reacts with the methoxybenzoic acid to yield solubilized methanethiol as an intermediate product, which is further oxidized to yield dissolved dimethyl disulfide.

摘要: A low-corrosivity composition suitable for dissolving scale on metals. The scale includes iron sulfide scale. The composition includes an aqueous hydrogen peroxide solution comprising hydrogen peroxide; and an acidic solution comprising at least one acid, where the hydrogen peroxide and acid are present at concentrations such that the hydrogen peroxide does not break down to form visible bubbles at about room temperature, where the hydrogen peroxide and acid are present at concentrations such that iron sulfide scale is removed from a metal with iron sulfide scale, after the composition contacts the metal and iron sulfide scale at an elevated temperature greater than room temperature, and where the hydrogen peroxide and acid are present at concentrations such that pitting is not caused on the metal, the metal comprising carbon steel.

摘要: The present invention generally relates to the use of aryl sulfonium salts for lowering sulfide concentrations and for preventing growth of microbes in a water injection system, a hydrocarbon extraction system, or a hydrocarbon production system. Treating oilfield injection and produced fluids containing high levels of microbes with aryl sulfonium salts can significantly decrease the amount of hydrogen sulfide produced, which can be used to measure sulfidogenesis. The treatment can also decrease the number of active microbes in the injection and produced fluids. Thus, these aryl sulfonium salts can be effectively used as inhibitors of hydrogen sulfide generation and as biocides in oilfield fluids.

摘要: The present invention provides a composition useful as a sulfide scale inhibitor for application in oilfield operations, comprising 1) at least one copolymer that comprises as monomers a) 0.1 to 10 mol-%, of structural units derived from vinylphosphonic acid and/or of a salt thereof, b) 40 to 80 mol-% of structural units derived from compounds of the formula (1) c) 1 to 50 mol-% of structural units derived from compounds of the formula (2) in which X is OH or NR3R4, and R3 and R4, independently of one another, are H or C1-C4-alkyl, 2) at least one of tris (hydroxymethyl) phosphine or a tetrakis(hydroxymethyl)phosphonium salt, 3) at least one surfactant, 4) at least one amine or ammonium salt.

An embodiment of the present disclosure is a method comprising: providing a treatment fluid comprising: a base fluid, a scale inhibitor, and a water clarifying agent; introducing the treatment fluid into a target region, wherein an inorganic cation and a sulfide anion are present in the target region; allowing the inorganic cation and the sulfide anion to form a sulfide precipitate; and using the treatment fluid to remove at least a portion of the sulfide precipitate from the target region.
