Abstract: Disclosed is a method for producing a fuel that has renewable content, the method comprising: providing renewable hydrogen sourced at least partially from causing renewable methane from a low carbon number fraction resulting from a conversion process to be fed, or co-fed with fossil material, to a hydrogen production unit to produce the renewable hydrogen, the feed to the conversion process being a carbon-containing renewable feedstock, the low carbon number fraction comprising carbon-containing molecules having 3 carbon atoms or less, the conversion process from which the hydrogen is sourced comprising a separation that fractionates the low carbon number fraction from a high carbon number fraction comprising carbon-containing molecules having 3 carbon atoms or more; and feeding the renewable hydrogen to at least part of a fossil fuel production facility to supply the renewable hydrogen thereto and produce the fuel that has renewable content.

Abstract: A process for producing desulfurized alpha olefins may include reacting a conjugated diene compound and a hydrocarbon oil stream including alpha olefins in a Diels-Alder reactor at a temperature of 100° C. to 250° C. to form an effluent stream including adducts of the conjugated diene compound and the alpha olefins, subjecting the effluent stream to a hydrodesulfurization catalyst and a hydrogen stream in a hydrodesulfurization reactor to produce a hydrodesulfurized effluent stream including the adducts, a saturated C5+ hydrocarbon stream, and a gaseous stream, separating the adducts, the saturated C5+ hydrocarbon stream, and the gaseous stream, and cracking the adducts in a first thermal cracking reactor operating at a temperature greater than 250° C. to produce a decomposed adducts stream including an alpha olefin stream and a recovered conjugated diene compound stream, wherein the gaseous stream includes hydrogen, sulfides, C1-C4 saturated hydrocarbons, or combinations thereof.

Abstract: A process for converting a hydrocarbon feed may comprise contacting a hydrocarbon feed with steam in the presence of a cracking catalyst under steam enhanced catalytic cracking conditions. The contacting the hydrocarbon feed with the steam in the presence of the cracking catalyst may cause at least a portion of the hydrocarbon feed to undergo steam catalytic cracking reactions to produce a cracked effluent comprising C2 to C4 olefins, C6 to C10 aromatic compounds, or both. The cracking catalyst may be a nanoparticle comprising: a core and a shell. The core may comprise one or more ZSM-5 zeolite particles and have an outer surface. The shell may comprise a plurality of fibers extending radially outward from the outer surface of the core. The plurality of fibers may comprise silica.

Abstract: In accordance with one or more embodiments herein, an integrated process for upgrading a hydrocarbon oil feed stream utilizing a delayed coker, steam enhanced catalytic cracker, and an aromatics complex includes solvent deasphalting the hydrocarbon oil stream; delayed coking the heavy residual hydrocarbons; hydrotreating the delayed coker product stream and the deasphalted oil stream to form a light C5+ hydrocarbon stream and a heavy C5+ hydrocarbon stream; steam enhanced catalytically cracking the light C5+ hydrocarbon stream; steam enhanced catalytically cracking the heavy C5+ hydrocarbon stream; passing at least a portion of the light steam enhanced catalytically cracked stream, the heavy steam enhanced catalytically cracked stream, or both to a product separator to produce a olefin product stream, a naphtha product stream, and a BTX product stream; and processing the naphtha product stream in the aromatics complex to produce benzene and xylenes.

Abstract: A hydrocarbon feed stream may be processed by a method that may include catalytically cracking a hydrocarbon feed stream in a counter-current reactor to produce a first effluent stream, and processing a portion or all of the first effluent stream by at least one or more separations. The at least one or more separations may form at least a second effluent stream including at least 95 wt. % C4-C6 hydrocarbons, and a third effluent stream including at least 95 wt. % of ethane, propane, or a combination thereof. In some embodiments, the method may further include catalytically cracking a portion or all of the second effluent stream in a second reactor to form a second reactor effluent stream, combining a portion of all of the second reactor effluent stream with the first effluent stream, steam cracking a portion or all of the third effluent stream to form a steam cracked effluent stream, and combining a portion or all of the steam cracked effluent stream with the first effluent. In other embodiments, the method may further include passing a portion or all of the second effluent stream to the counter-current reactor, steam cracking a portion or all of the third effluent stream to form a steam cracked effluent stream, and combining a portion or all of the steam cracked effluent stream with the first effluent stream.

Abstract: A process for upgrading a hydrocarbon feed includes contacting the hydrocarbon feed with steam in the presence of a cracking catalyst at reaction conditions sufficient to cause at least a portion of hydrocarbons in the hydrocarbon feed to undergo one or more cracking reactions to produce a steam catalytic cracking effluent comprising light olefins, light aromatic compounds, or both. The cracking catalyst is hierarchical mesoporous ZSM-5 zeolite. The hierarchical mesoporous ZSM-5 zeolite is made by providing a starting ZSM-5 zeolite, disintegrating the a portion of the starting ZSM-5 in the presence of a surfactant using sodium hydroxide, and then recrystallizing the zeolite constituents in the presence of the surfactant to produce recrystallized ZSM-5 zeolite. The recrystallized ZSM-5 zeolite is then recovered and calcined to produce the hierarchical mesoporous ZSM-5 zeolite.
