    摘要: A roll for pressure treatment of paper webs has a stationary shaft which is spacedly surrounded by the concave cylindrical internal surface of a rotary sleeve. The shaft carries a row of pressure shoes which define therewith plenum chambers for a hydraulic fluid serving to urge the convex cylindrical external surfaces of the shoes toward the internal surface of the sleeve. Each external surface has a centrally located primary hydrostatic bearing pocket which communicates with the respective plenum chamber and a set of four auxiliary hydrostatic bearing pockets which surround the respective primary pocket and receive only that hydraulic fluid which overflows the lands between the primary pocket and the auxiliary pockets. The pockets in each external surface are surrounded by a marginal portion of such surface and the primary pocket has arms which extend to the marginal portion and each of which is flanked by a pair of auxiliary pockets. The arms of the primary pocket are parallel to the longitudinal axis of the sleeve and/or to an axis which is normal to the longitudinal axis. The auxiliary pockets form groups which make oblique angles with the two axes. If the external surfaces of the shoes are rectangular, the groups of auxiliary pockets extend substantially diagonally of the respective external surfaces.

    摘要: A press roll with adjustable flexion has a roll shell mounted to rotate around a fixed yoke and mounted with self-aligning bearings on a support cap in which the yoke is also supported on its own curved support. The press roll works in conjunction with a mating roll to form a press zone, near which there is a main hydraulic support that is positioned between the yoke and the shell and that transfers support forces from the yoke to the shell. The distance between the bearings of the shell is equal to that of the mating roll. The self-aligning bearing and the curved yoke support are mounted concentrically on a tubular collar of the support cap. There can also be supplemental supports outside the press zone for imposing additional flexion on the roll shell.

    摘要: A controlled deflection roll having a roll shell rotatably mounted at its ends at a stationary roll support. Pressure or support elements are located between the roll shell and the roll support. The bearing or mounting arrangement of the roll shell at the roll support is provided with play, in a direction opposite to the direction of application of the force exerted by the pressure elements. In such play there is effective a force opposing the direction of the force of the pressure elements. If this force is exceeded by the force of the pressure elements, then a control device limits the force exerted by the pressure elements to a value which is not dangerous for the roll shell. According to a preferred construction the control device is constituted by a hydraulic shutoff element which, in the case of a hydraulic controlled deflection roll, opens an outflow channel leading from the pressure line or conduit, and thus, lowers the pressure effective in the pressure line.

The calender system has a first and second roller each having a first and second end mounted in opposed end supports. The end supports each have an inlet and an outlet in fluid communication with one or more internal passages, wherein a heat transfer medium may be circulated through the one or more internal passages. The heat transfer medium may either heat or cool the internal passages of the end supports, resulting in the respective increase or decrease in the gauge of the product.

    摘要: The invention relates to an extra-roll slide bearing system (20) for a paper/board machine or a finishing machine, surrounding a shaft (2) in a roll (1). The bearing system comprises a body section (5), which is formed with a bearing housing (7) provided with hydrostatic bearing elements (3, 3A) disposed around the shaft (2). The bearing elements are fitted with slide elements (4, 4A), having a sliding surface (16) directed towards the shaft (2). Between the slide elements (4) and the shaft (2) is a bushing (6), which is mounted on the shaft (2) for rotation therewith, said slide elements (4, 4A) being adapted to position themselves around the bushing (6) with the sliding surfaces (16) against the external surface of the bushing directed away from the shaft for supporting said shaft (2), and hence the roll (1), rotatably relative to the body section (5). The bearing housing (7) has its axial ends provided with end caps (8, 9), along with packing elements (12, 14) therefor, for sealing the bearing housing. The slide bearing system (20) of the invention is assembled for a single package, which is mountable on the shaft (2) and dismountable from the shaft (2) as a single package.
