Abstract:
The invention relates to a door for an electric switch cabinet comprising a door leaf made of a material isolating from fire and arcs, a hinge construction at a vertical edge of said door leaf and connectable to the cabinet frame, and a locking device cooperating with the door frame at the other vertical edge of said door leaf. In order to obtain an improved hinge construction regarding tightness and strength and to make the door lockable from all sides of the frame, the invention provides a hinge construction comprising a hinge composed of slidably and pivotably interengaging profile elements, latch means provided at the upper and lower edges of the door and being adapted to engage complementary latch means provided at the frame, and a jacking or lifting mechanism for vertically displacing the door via the hinge to bring the latch means and the complementary latch means into and out of engagement relative each other.
Abstract:
Described herein is a door assembly that includes a flexible panel of flexible plate material which is guided in channels between a closed position to an opened position; the flexible panel assuming a substantially horizontal position in the open position and thereby increases the height clearance in the door opening.
Abstract:
An articulation system for two panels, comprising a flexible hinge (4) and edge sections (1, 2; 3) for the panels, for receiving and retaining the flexible hinge, a flexible hinge (4) having a central tubular portion (13) arranged in the vicinity of the median plane of the panels is provided and includes two flanges (14, 15) adapted to snap lock into the edge sections; the latter comprise channels (L1, L2) permitting this snap locking engagement, and guide surfaces (S, Sc; Sax, Sac, AL) are arranged on respective parts about the median plane of the panels, for guiding their pivotal movement about an axis of rotation passing through the central tubular portion of the flexible hinge. The invention may in particular be used with sectional doors.
Abstract:
An easel hinge for supporting picture frames and the like comprises two hinge plate members each including a tubular wall. The tubular wall of one hinge plate member is inserted in the tubular wall of another hinge plate member with at least some non-congruent portions whereby the inner tubular wall can be rotated within the outer tubular wall. The outer tubular wall is open and has at its open edge a substantially straight lower end wall portion. When the inner hinge plate member strikes against the substantially straight lower end wall portion of the outer hinge plate member the plates are retained in the end angular position, and further angular displacement of the hinge plate members relative to each other is prevented.
Abstract:
An appliance hinge having internal stop mechanisms. The hinge has a first member which provides a thin bearing surface on both sides of a formed cylindrical segment on the back lip of the door. The second hinge member is a molded block which mounts on the floor of the door recess on the appliance cabinet top, and has a cylindrical shaped guide slot for receiving the first member in sliding engagement. The first and second hinge members are snapped together to prevent disengagement during assembly. When the door is rotated about the hinge axis, the bearing surfaces of the cylindrical segment slilde along the guide slot until the door contacts the back lip of the slot and the edge of the cylindrical segment contacts the terminating surface of the guide slot. Cooperatively, these two stop mechanisms distribute the strain of a relatively strong opening force.
Abstract:
Overhead door construction for a truck van or the like including metal door sections pivotally connected by the rigid part of a dual durometer plastic hinge member having a flexible part for sealing the joint between adjacent door sections when the door is closed.
Abstract:
End strips for longitudinal edges of a sandwich panel to be used in facade cladding or in garage or entrance doors, the strips being provided with lugs which extend along the length of webs and each of which is arranged to engage with a lug of complementary shape on the other strip. Each lug is disposed on one side edge of the web with an adjoining flange which is disposed at least in part at an acute angle relative to the web, to co-operate with the adjoining cover plate of the sandwich panel.
Abstract:
This invention is directed toward improvements in closure hinges of the type employing curved hinge sections which rotatably interconnect. A rigid link is employed at the ends of the hinge to help retain the hinge sections interconnected. Existing hinge elements are used to connect the links to the hinge. Fasteners means are employed to prevent the hinge sections from moving longitudinally with respect to each other. Spacer elements are provided to prevent the fasteners from binding on the hinge sections.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a window structure comprising a frame capable of being secured to a window opening, and hinges and latches fitted in the frame. The frame is preferably made up of an aluminum profile having the same cross section all around the frame. A substantial part of the profile consists of the interior part which receives the pane and has the shape of an open tube. Both the hinge and the latch are fitted in the open tube, to which they attach rotatably without any furniture or other fastening means. Both the hinges and the latches can be simply pressed into the open tube and be removed from it without dismantling the window structure in any way. Owing to the symmetry of the window structure the left- or right-handedness of the window can be determined as late as at the installation stage. The invention also relates to a hinge and a latch functioning in an open-tube-shaped frame structure. The invention further relates to a cover profile for the frame part of a window structure or the like. The object of this part of the invention is to provide an inexpensive and easily installable cover profile, which can be adjusted without steps so that the same profile can be used between the window frame part and the adjacent wall or the adjacent window even if this clearance varies in width. This is implemented by using a cover profile according to the invention, at least one edge of which is flat and intended to be pushed into a pocket-like opening in the frame part. The cover profile according to the invention can also be shaped to form a drip sheet for the window.
Abstract:
A folding closure assembly for closing an opening. The assembly includes a track installed along the top of the opening, and a folding closure unit made up of a plurality of folding closure sections. Each closure section comprises a plurality of closure panels pivotably connected together. Each section is separately mounted on the track to be movably suspended therefrom. Means are provided on each side edge of the sections for joining the mounted sections together to form the folding closure unit. The invention also covers the method of installing the folding closure assembly.
