    摘要: There is disclosed a gate valve having a cast body which is of sufficiently low height that the upper end of the gate remains partially within a cavity in the bonnet connected to the body as it moves between opened and closed positions. Guide surfaces are formed in the open end of the bonnet cavity for guiding the side edges of the gate as it is so moved. The stem is of a non-rising type having a ring mounted for rotation without reciprocation between upper and lower axial thrust bearings in the bonnet and connected to a one-piece stem by means of a pin which is adapted to shear in response to a predictable axial load on the stem.

    摘要: The technical field of the invention is that of guillotine type valves for powdery, granular or pasty products.The technical problem posed consists in improving the valve disclosed in U.S. Pat. No. 4,356,838, so as to simplify the construction and maintenance thereof and to improve the operation thereof.According to the invention, the arms (7) of the plate (3) are removable, as well as the sleeve (23) force fitted into the external face of the orifice of the front and rear bodies of the valve. The internal face of each of the bodies (1, 2) is covered with a "duplex" seal (26) and the movable arms of the plate slide with respect to PTFE seals (16, 18). Finally, the abutment member (4) at the end of travel of the plate (3) is made retractable by means of a pneumatic or spring return device.

    摘要: A gate valve apparatus suitable for controlling the flow of fluids in a conduit, especially gases in high temperature applications, is disclosed. The apparatus includes a gate member adapted for sliding movement through an aperture in the gate valve assembly. Each opposing side of the aperture has fixedly mounted cooperating flat sealing strips to seal the aperture in both the conduit-open and conduit-closed positions. In certain embodiments a plurality of substantially parallel gate members, each having aperture sealing means, may be used to provide increased sealing effectiveness for highly toxic gaseous mediums.

    摘要: The valve of the present invention includes an inflatable seal element located in the housing seat and a gas-pressure-purge arrangement. The inflatable seal element is inflated by means of pressurized fluid to grow in size and close up clearances between gate and seat, thereby establishing a gas-tight seal between the two parts, at will. So this can be done, for example, after the valve has been operated to close (slide gate driven into the valve housing) and a gas-pressure-tight seal is desired. Prior to this event, the gas-pressure-purge arrangement is activated to blast-off solid particles from the gate surfaces where these make contact with the inflatable seal element. It is not mandatory that each and every solid particle be removed from the gate contact surfaces by means of the gas-pressure-purge arrangement. Only a reasonable amount of cleanliness on the gate contact surfaces is desirable. The inflatable seal element is capable of sealing gas-tight even when some solid particles become trapped and embedded on the inflatable seal surface. The purpose of the gas-pressure-purge arrangement is to keep the contact surfaces reasonably free of solid particles only to improve the life of the inflatable seal element. Furthermore, the inflatable seal element can be deflated to shrink in size, thereby providing increased clearance between gate and seat, when desired. So this is done just prior to the moment when the gate is to be operated (driven out of the housing) to open the valve. No scoring can occur on gate or seat on account of the increased clearance.

Each carrier (72, 74) has an annular base (76) adjacent one of the flow passages and a pair of spacers or guides (78, 80) secured to the base and extending from the base (76) in a direction axially of the flow passage. The spacers (78, 80) on opposed carriers are in abutting relation to each other and form a smooth continuation. An expanding gate assembly (28) fits between the spacers and moves between open and closed positions relative to the flow passages.

    摘要: A gate valve structure for use in mains carrying a fluid under high pressure, the fluid being of the type which could possibly cause corrosion to the elements of the gate valve structure including the casing. An improved valve gate member is provided which permits operation from closed to open position and vice versa with a minimum of torque and with maximum holding power in the closed position. The valve gate member is designed so that there is unobstructed communication between the ports of the valve casing to thereby reduce turbulence and currents within the valve structure and thus effectively reduce corrosion deposits and collection of debris within the structure. The valve gate member is a flat and hollow chamber for reception of a valve operating stem and means are provided to completely protect the valve gate member and the track in which it operates from corrosion and possible damage.
