    摘要: The invention discloses an image processing apparatus for adjusting the saturation of an input image. The input image also has a lightness and a hue. The image processing apparatus includes a look-up table, a processing unit, and a multiplier. The look-up table is used for recording M lightness ranges, N hue ranges, and M*N corresponding gains. The processing unit is used for storing the look-up table and, according to the look-up table, for judging that the lightness of the input image is located in which lightness range, and the hue is located in which hue range, so as to determine a corresponding gain from the gains. The multiplier is coupled to the processing unit and used for multiplying the saturation of the input image by the corresponding gain. Accordingly, the image quality is improved.

    摘要: Provided is a method, system, and program for interfacing with a printer driver. Data and an acknowledgment request is received from the printer driver. The printer driver does not send further data to print until receiving an acknowledgment reply indicating that the transmitted data passed an initial check to improve printer performance. An acknowledgment reply is transmitted to the printer driver in response to the acknowledgment request before completing the initial check of the sent data to cause the printer driver to send further data. Data processing operations are resynchronized in response to detecting an error in the received data. The received data is rasterized and outputted.

    摘要: A host sends each page of image data to a page printer in band units and the page printer writes the received each band data into a reception buffer in DRAM by DMA and transfers the band data from the reception buffer to an image formation section made up of members. The host gets an available buffer capacity from the printer just before transmitting each band data, and transmits the band data only when the printer can receive the band data. In the printer, a CPU permits transfer DMA to be started after reception data as much as the data amount calculated based on the data reception speed and the transfer rate is stored in the buffer to prevent an underrun error from occurring. If an underrun error occurs, the CPU sets an error flag, and sends the error flag to the host just before the host starts transmitting each band data. When receiving the error flag, the host drops image resolution and resends the page data with the resolution dropped.

    摘要: A method and an apparatus used, for example, in conjunction with a computer or similar device, provides for multi-resolution rendering of image data, where the image data includes background image data, vector data and text data, so as to accommodate memory capacities of rendering devices. The computer may send image data in a multi-resolution format from the computer to one of several rendering devices. The multi-resolution format may be achieved by frequency domain coding or generation of image swaths, or a combination thereof. The image data may first be sent in a low resolution format, and a rendering device determines, based on its memory, whether the corresponding image or text should be rendered. Next, vector data and/or text data may be supplied to the rendering device. Then, higher resolution data may be sent after the text/vector date so as to maximize memory usage of the rendering device. Additionally, in a printing application, the image data may be divided into swaths, with each swath separately provided to a printer.
