    摘要： A power tilt assembly for a band saw has a power tilt harp plate and a length of silent chain about the harp plate's perimeter. The chain is anchored to the harp plate at each end by a chain tensioner. The column of a blade carrying frame incorporates a tilt motor and a tilt motor shaft to drive a silent chain sprocket around a portion of which the silent chain is looped. A pair of idlers are used to maintain this portion of the silent chain in contact with the sprocket. As the tilt gear motor is actuated, the sprocket moves along the chain thereby moving the column of the blade carrying frame with it. A power tilt brake pad controls incremental movement of the column and a power tilt pointer indicates degree of tilt of the column and the corresponding angle of vertical cut to the machine operator.

The axis of rotation (29) is preferably located at the initial cutting engagement point of an endless saw band (9) looped about the saw band wheels (7, 8), and the pivoting position can be arrested at any desired pivoted or angular position. In addition, the saw band carrier can be arranged to tilt about an essentially horizontal tilt axis.

The end members have slideways co-acting with slides on spaced support arms pivoted to opposite ends of a work support. Locks selectively fix the arms in adjusted positions. An hydraulic cylinder is connected to raise and lower the support frame end members relative to the work support. Racks on the support arms co-act with connected pinions on the saw support frame to hold the saw frame aligned with the arms.An adjusting screw on the underside of the bed is releasably engaged by blocks on the underside of the clamp jaw having opposed tooth sectors. The blocks are biased to tooth engaging position, and a cam on the clamp jaw spreads the blocks for quick slide adjustment.

    摘要： An apparatus is provided for controlling the raising and lowering of a cutting head assembly of a horizontal bandsaw machine. The apparatus comprises a sensing member for sensing the top surface of a workpiece to be cut and an actuating device which is operatively coupled to the sensing member. The actuating device switches from a first state to a second state when the sensing member senses the top surface of the workpiece. A carrier device is operatively coupled to the actuator wherein the position of the carrier is movable with respect to the cutting edge of the blade of the bandsaw when the actuator is in the first state and the position of the carrier is fixed with respect to the cutting edge of the bandsaw when the actuator is in the second state. A detector is mounted on the cutting head assembly for movement therewith such that the detecting member contacts the carrier device upon the raising of the cutting head wherein upon contact of the detector and the carrier device, the detector provides a signal for stopping the further raising of the cutting head.
