摘要： An apparatus for adjusting the rotation speed of a cross-cutting saw of a tree handling machine, especially grapple harvester is provided. The apparatus is arranged to control a hydraulic cylinder connected to the guide bar of the cross-cutting saw in a power transmitting way. A line communicating with the source of pressure medium and having an adjusting unit for adjusting the pressure of the cylinder is connected to the hydraulic cylinder. The system further includes a computing unit, and a rotation speed sensor in conjunction with the cross-cutting saw for measuring the rotational speed of the cross-cutting saw. The rotational speed sensor has a data transmitting connection with the computing unit arranged to control the adjusting unit according to the measured speed.

摘要： A hydraulically powered treelength log sawing apparatus has a log support lined with teeth opposing the outwardly-directed sawing force generated by its driveshaft-pivoted chainsaw. The chainsaw is driven by a hydraulic motor whose fluid exhaust flows through a conduit to an adjustable restriction which creates a backpressure in the fluid in the conduit. The magnitude of the backpressure is directly related to the speed of the motor and the saw, and the backpressure is directed to a hydraulic cylinder which forces the chainsaw into sawing engagement with logs on the support, thereby prevent stalling of the saw and in general causing the saw speed and engagement force respectively to be self-compensating and requiring no attention from the operator during sawing. An arrangement of automatic valves and bypass conduits removes the power from the motor and reverses the hydraulic cylinder to disengage the saw from the logs upon simple reversal of the inlet and outlet or exhaust connections between the motor and cylinder and the hydraulic power supply, as by shifting a four-way valve which passes the pressurized and exhaust fluid flows to the apparatus.

An arrangement for manufacturing the wall portions includes a first unit provided with a cutting tool rotatable about a flexible web for cutting a block of heat insulating synthetic foam material over a contour embracing a section of a container surface to be insulated so as to form a curved blank, and a second unit including two pairs of band saws for finally cutting the curved blank coated with a baffle layer along joining surfaces so as to produce a wall portion with final dimensions.

摘要： Cutting horizontal, cantilevering objects of splittable material, such as de-barked tree trunks and the like is carried out with the aid of a guided, endless circulating saw chain (10), the upper cutting part of which is moved from below and upwards through the object. The lower edge portions of the cut surfaces at the cut are allowed to bear against each other under the action of the bending moment of the cantilevering object, while the return portion of the saw chain in the cutting area is kept free from the cut surfaces. The saw chain is guided by a chain guide (12) extending curvilinearly under the object and guides the return part of the chain. The chain guide and the guided return part are both outside and below the object during the whole of the cutting operation, while the upper cutting portion of the chain runs straight between the end points of the curved portion of the chain guide.Towards the end of the cutting operation, the part of the object not yet sawn through is subjected solely to short-duration tensional stress and substantially not to bending stress, whereby splitting the material is avoided.

摘要： A feed control for a horizontal bandsaw machine has a hydraulic motor assembly which includes a piston dividing a hydraulic cylinder into upper and lower chambers. The cylinder is pivotally secured to the base of the machine, and the piston is pivotally secured to the saw head of the machine by an elongated piston rod. Hydraulic fluid is simultaneously introduced into one end of the motor assembly and withdrawn from the other end to positively regulate the position of the piston within the cylinder. A first pressure control device regulates the hydraulic pressure in the upper chamber of the motor assembly, and a second pressure control device regulates the hydraulic pressure in the lower chamber of the motor assembly. By regulating the pressure differential between the upper and the lower chambers, the rate of movement of the piston, and thus of the saw head, can be precisely regulated and thus optimized to insure cutting accuracy and minimize wear on the saw blade.
