    摘要: An ink ribbon cassette which is adapted to be demountably loaded on a recording apparatus having a recording head capable of recording information on a recording medium supported by a platen, the ink ribbon cassette has the following parts: a substantially box-shaped casing constituted by an upper case and a lower case which are connected to each other at their vertical walls, the casing having a first side wall facing the platen and a second side wall opposing the first side wall, a recessed portion formed in one end of the first side wall and capable of receiving the recording head, engaging portion provided on the second side wall and adapted for engagement with retaining member on the recording apparatus, a pair of through holes constituted by pairs of apertures formed in the portions of the upper and lower cases adjacent to the first side wall, the through holes being adapted for receiving locating members on the recording apparatus so as to locate the ink ribbon cassette, and a path of an ink ribbon extended along the first side wall so as to avert from the pair of through holes. A recording apparatus which can be loaded with the ink ribbon cassette comprises a base member for carrying a stack of the ink ribbon cassettes having the described construction, a pair of locating members projected from the base member and adapted to be received in the pair of through holes, and engaging members projected from the base member and provided at their ends with claws for engagement with the engaging portion of the casing, whereby the ink ribbon cassettes of the stack are located and held by common locating members.

    摘要: This disclosure sets forth a dot matrix printer having an improved ribbon drive. The ribbon drive is provided by two respective stepper motors. When one stepper motor is in a take-up mode, the second is in a feed mode. The process is reversed proximate the end of the tape as it is unwound. A re-generative mode for the feed motor is provided and a resistance bank varies amounts of drag on the ribbon as it is fed from the feed motor spool. Both motors when in the take-up mode are driven by full H bridge drivers and amplifiers controlled by a micro controller through an address and decode input and output latch. In order to provide for a uniform velocity of the print ribbon the angular velocity of the take up motor is controlled by counting the zero crossings of the feed motor, and then loading it into the micro controller to compare it with a look-up table for purposes of providing a proper speed to the take-up motor and the proper peak drag through the resistance bank to the feed motor. All functions are controlled by the micro controller and firmware logic provided thereto.

    摘要: A cassette for holding a transfer printing film has a pressing member for pressing against a feed roll of the film wound around a feed reel in the cassette. When the cassette is loaded in a thermal transfer printer, the film is taken up around a take-up reel from the feed reel while the pressing member is applying a braking torque to the film on the feed reel so that torque balance is attained. When the wound length of the film of the feed roll has decreased to approximately 60 percent of the initial length, the pressing member ceases to apply the braking torque to the feed reel, and thereafter the feeding and taking up of the film are carried out in a regular torque state.

    摘要: A cassette for a printing ribbon for typewriters comprises a casing accommodating a supply spool, a receiving spool and a brake and take up device which operates on a tube of the supply spool and on the ribbon which is unwound from the supply spool. The tube is rotatable on a sleeve projecting from the bottom of the casing. The brake and take up device comprises a shoe for applying a braking action to an internal surface of the tube. A wire spring has an intermediate portion which engages in a seat of coupling means of the shoe. In a first position the shoe is urged against the surface of the tube and brakes the supply spool. In a second position the shoe is spaced from the internal surface of the tube and the supply spool is free to rotate. The spring also performs the slack ribbon take-up function and for that purpose comprises an end having an L-shaped bent portion which in turn is engaged with the ribbon to regulate the tension and unwinding of the ribbon which is unwound from the supply spool.

    摘要: The ribbon (17) has an external run between the type element (25) and platen of a daisy-wheel typewriter. This run stretches between terminal members (59) which protrude from side arms (33 and 34) of the cartridge casing (18) and are fixed to the distal ends of arms (39, 41) pivotally mounted in the casing (18) at pivot (52). The arms (39, 41) are biased downwardly by wire springs (67) to expose the typing line. Ribbon lift levers of the typewriter raise the arms simultaneously to position a selected one of three tracks on the ribbon at the level of the typing point and a single drive shaft provides for the advancement of the ribbon. The cartridge comprises a feed spool and a take-up spool for the ribbon, a drive roller and a pressure roller which nip the ribbon internally to the casing, a transmission mechanism having a series of pinions and gears for transmitting the drive motion from the drive shaft of the typewriter to the pressure roller and to the take-up spool of the cartridge. A gear of the transmission mechanism is coaxial with the tke-up spool and is connected with the take-up spool by means of a friction clutch, which permits a slip motion between the gear and the take-up spool.

    摘要: In a tape transport mechanism, a payout reel is supported on a shaft whereabout is wound a helical spring inertia brake fixed at a first end and free at a second end, wound such that rotation of the payout reel in response the drawing therefrom of ribbon tends to cause the helical spring inertia brake to be wound more tightly onto the shaft. A portion of the ribbon passes onto a tension arm. A projection on the tension arm engages the second free end and unwinds the helical spring inertia brake to allow rotation of the shaft opposed by a predetermined amount of torque to maintain tension in the moving ribbon. When the moving ribbon ceases to be drawn from the payout reel, the tension arm moves back for the projection to allow the helical spring inertia brake once more to grip the shaft and bring the payout reel rapidly to a halt. An energy-storing two-diameter helical friction brake is further provided on the shaft to counter-rotate the shaft on cessation of movement of the ribbon to take up any inter-reel slack and to provide ribbon-movement-opposing torque to maintain tension in the ribbon when it is moving.
