摘要： A plastic sewage holding tank in a boat, associated with a toilet, includes a vent check valve assembly for providing vacuum relief. By mounting the vent check valve in the top of the tank, when the tank is being emptied by rapid pumpout implosion or other damage to the tank is prevented. The vent check valve assembly may include a valve body surface operatively connected to the tank and having a plurality of openings formed in it, and a flexible material diaphragm covering the openings adjacent the inside of the tank, and uncovering openings to allow air flow through the openings substantially only when a vacuum condition exists inside the tank. A plastic disk biases the diaphragm into its opening-covering position, but a partial vacuum of at least about 2-5 inches of water allows air to flow through the openings past the diaphragm.

摘要： A vacuum tank assembly has a low volume configuration so that it can be used in boats and recreational vehicles where space is at a premium. A stack of components, with a waste tank at the bottom, then a vacuum tank with directly connected vacuum pump, and one or more fresh water tanks, is located remote from a vacuum toilet, with a discharge from the toilet (below a vacuum-tight ball valve) connected to the vacuum tank, which is in turn connected to the vacuum pump, in turn connected to the waste tank. A submersible centrifugal pump may be provided mounted to a cap of the water tank, with an anti-siphon device associated with it. The vacuum tank is of high density polypropylene having flat walls, with no continuous flat surface more than 80 square inches. Lipless duckbill check valves are provided on opposite sides of the vacuum pump, the valves of elastomeric material having a ratio of the wall thickness to thickness of the sealing edges of about 1:1. The waste tank may have a dip tube with a dog leg portion having a large cross-sectional are oval bottom opening to minimize the possibility of clogging.

摘要： A storage rack is mounted on boats of the type having seats supported by pedestals in order to store the pedestal posts. The storage rack is adapted to be mounted angularly for holding a pair of pedestal posts and consists of a pair of elongated cylindrical tubes, mounted side-by-side, and having a forward mounting plate and a rear support plate. The forward mounting plate is mounted angularly with respect to the cylindrical members so that when the mounting plate is attached to a mounting surface, the cylindrical members are disposed angularly. The support plate extends perpendicularly with respect to the tubular members and is provided with an opening or hole in alignment with each tubular member to prevent water accumulation and to accomodate the reduced diameter portion of the pedestal posts.

摘要： The water and oil that is normally collected in the bilge of small boats is pumped overboard by a bilge pump with the oil being removed from the bilge water by a filter having layers of different size expanded resin particles that are hydrophobic and oleophilic. When operation of the bilge pump ceases, a valve will release the back pressure that would otherwise be caused by the filter, to facilitate start-up of the pump. At the discharge and visible on the exterior of the boat, there is an indicator that will change color when it is in contact with oil, to provide a visual indication when the filter needs changing.

摘要： A wave-actuated bilge pump for pumping foul bilge gases from a boat. The pump includes a generally inverted U-shaped section of hollow tubing with generally downwardly directed legs having open ends. One of the ends is positioned to receive bilge gases from within the boat, and the other end is immersed below the surface of the water outside the boat. A freely-opening check valve permits bilge gases to flow within the tubing only away from the fume-receiving end. A gas-escape port opened to the atmosphere is provided in the tubing above the lower, open tubing end immersed in the water, and a second, freely-opening check valve is provided to permit flow of bilge fumes through the port only outwardly of the tubing of the atmosphere. Wave-action causes the level of water in the exterior leg of the tubing to rise and to fall such that bilge gases are drawn into the tubing as the water level falls, and the gases are exhausted from the tubing as the water level rises.

The apparatus includes a foot-receiving mounting platform on which is a manual pump provided with an inlet duct extending to the underside of the platform. A compressible elastomeric sealing annulus surrounds the inlet duct and can be compressed between the under side of the mounting platform and the deck plate by foot pressure to create an effective liquid-tight seal, such foot pressure also stabilizing the apparatus during pumping operation.
