Abstract:
A waste disposal system consists of a combustion chamber for vaporizing and burning sewage and for discharging the same with the products of combustion into a cyclone separator which retains dry solids and discharges the gaseous content.
Abstract:
A glazing system for large glass windows wherein the opening is framed by a narrow surface coplanar with the opening and an outer surface perpendicular to the plane of the opening. The perpendicular surface has a channel therein spaced from the coplanar surface into which a portion of a resilient stop is forced. The stop has an outer portion including a window engaging lip and a perpendicular surface engaging lip, the arrangement being such that the outer portion is rotated toward and into pressure engagement with the glass by the engagement of the perpendicular engaging lip with its surface as the stop is forced into the channel. A tacky semi-compressible sealant placed between the glass and the coplanar surfaces is thus placed under compression. Shims prevent over compression. The stop engages the bottom of the channel when fully inserted so as to be accurately located and provided a straight sight line.
Abstract:
Means are provided for permitting internal glazing for panel mounting systems of the type wherein elastomeric gasket members which include panel receiving channels therein are disposed about openings in buildings or the like to support thin rigid construction panels in predetermined desired positions. In the subject invention, a plurality of rigid means are molded integrally into at least those gasket members used to support the edges of adjacent construction panels. These rigid means are adapted to be used in affixing the gaskets to associated rigid construction members extending around and/or spanning the opening as well as providing rigidity for the panel mounting gaskets to prevent panel roll out when high negative lateral forces are received against the construction panels.
Abstract:
An exterior molding for automobiles having a channel shaped metallic member filled with vinyl material and a vinyl bumper secured to the outer surface of the channel. Adhesive tape is employed to secure the molding to the supporting surface. The surfaces of the channel are selectively primed and vinyl material is extruded directly on to the surfaces of the channel and removed from the un-primed surfaces.
Abstract:
A waste disposal system for a human conveyance includes a waste tank for receiving liquid and organic waste material. An aerating device for aerating waste material in the tank is operated by air pressure during movement of the conveyance to bubble air through waste material in the tank.
Abstract:
A MOLDED DECORATIVE PLAQUE IS PROVIDED COMPRISING A BODY PORTION OF A PLASTIC MATERIAL AND A FACING SHEET DISPOSED OVER THE FRONT FACE OF THE BODY PORTION. THE FRONT FACE OF THE BODY PORTION IS PROVIDED WITH A DECORATIVE CONTOUR AND A FACING SHEET CONFORMS TO THE CONTOUR THEREOF. THE FACING SHEET IS A LAMINATED STRUCTURE COMPRISED OF AN OUTER SHEET, A LAYER OF METAL ON THE INNER SURFACE OF THE OUTER SHEET AND AN INNER BACKING SHEET OF PLASTIC MATERIAL WHICH IS ADHESIVELY BONDED TO THE LAYER OF METAL. THE PLASTIC MATERIAL OF THE BACKING SHEET IS COMPATIBLE WITH THE PLASTIC MATERIAL OF THE BODY PORTION AND IS JOINED THERETO UNDER HEAT AND PRESSURE TO FORM AN INTEGRAL BOND BETWEEN THE BODY PORTION AND FACING SHEET. A LAYER OF PROTECTIVE VARNISH OR THE LIKE IS PROVIDED ON THE OUTER SURFACE OF THE FACING SHEET AS AN INTEGRAL PART THEREOF.
Abstract:
A fluid treatment system in which a peristaltic pump employs concentric tubes to define separate flow paths for the treating agent and the material to be treated. In this manner, a single pump may be used to pump both fluids. The flow paths may merge either interior or exterior of the pump whereby a metered amount of treating agent is mixed with the fluid. A specific application is in waste disposal system in which deodorants or antifoaming agents are added to the waste products prior to final disposal.
Abstract:
Heated gases, such as exhaust gases from an engine, and liquid waste materials are mixed in a container with the hot gases vaporizing the liquid. Cyclonic movement of the gases separates unvaporized liquid droplets from the gas and prevents escape of any liquid from the container. The mixed vapors and gases leave the container through a common outlet. The container may also include means for condensing and separating pollutants such as oil from the gases.
Abstract:
A BOAT HAVING A TOILET AND STORAGE TANK FOR WASTES FROM THE TOILET IS PROVIDED WITH A STORAGE TANK VENT. THE BOAT MAY BE ONE HAVING A TRANSCEIVER AND A TRANSCEIVER ANTENNA. THE TRANSCEIVER ANTENNA EXTENDS VERY HIGH ABOVE THE BOAT AND IS HOLLOW. A VENT CONDUIT CONNECTS THE WASTE TANK WITH THE HOLLOW TRANSCEIVER ANTENNA AND GASES FORMED IN THE WASTE TANK ARE EXHAUSTED TO ATMOSPHERE THROUGH OPENING MEANS IN THE TOP PORTION OF THE TRANS-
CEIVER ANTENNA. THE BOAT MAY BE A SAILBOAT HAVING A SAIL SUPPORTING MAST WHICH IS HOLLOW. A VENT CONDUIT CONNECTS THE WASTE TANK WITH THE HOLLOW MAST TO EXHAUST GASES TO ATMOSPHERE THROUGH OPENING MEANS IN THE TOP PORTION OF THE MAST.
