Abstract: Provided is a silicate glass, a method for preparing a silicate glass-ceramics by using the silicate glass, and a method for preparing a lithium disilicate glass-ceramics by using the silicate glass, and more particularly, to a method for preparing a glass-ceramics that has a nanosize of 0.2 to 0.5 μm and contains lithium disilicate and silicate crystalline phases. A nano lithium disilicate glass-ceramics containing a SiO2 crystalline phase includes: a glass composition including 70 to 85 wt % SiO2, 10 to 13 wt % Li2O, 3 to 7 wt % P2O5 working as a nuclei formation agent, 0 to 5 wt % Al2O3 for increasing a glass transition temperature and a softening point and enhancing chemical durability of glass, 0 to 2 wt % ZrO2, 0.5 to 3 wt % CaO for increasing a thermal expansion coefficient of the glass, 0.5 to 3 wt % Na2O, 0.5 to 3 wt % K2O, and 1 to 2 wt % colorants, and 0 to 2.0 wt % mixture of MgO, ZnO, F, and La2O3.

Abstract: Glass compositions and glass fibers having low dielectric constants and low dissipation factors that may be suitable for use in electronic applications and articles are disclosed. The glass fibers and compositions of the present invention may include between 48.0 to 58.0 weight percent SiO2; between 15.0 and 26.0 weight percent B2O3; between 12.0 and 18.0 weight percent Al2O3; between greater than 0.25 and 3.0 weight percent P2O5; between greater than 0.25 and 7.00 weight percent CaO; 5.0 or less weight percent MgO; between greater than 0 and 1.5 weight percent SnO2; and 6.0 or less weight percent TiO2. A second ratio of a specific distance to 1 meter, the specific distance being defined as a largest of all shortest distances. A product of the first and second ratio is smaller than 4×10−6.

The glass composition has the following relationships: Al2O3+Li2O is greater than 22.5 mol %, R2O+RO is greater than or equal to 18.0 mol %, R2O/Al2O3 is greater than or equal to 1.06, SiO2+Al2O3+B2O3+P2O5 is greater than or equal to 78.0 mol %, and (SiO2+Al2O3+B2O3+P2O5)/Li2O is greater than or equal to 8.0. The glass composition may be used in a glass article or a consumer electronic product.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a glass including, in terms of mole percentage based on oxides: 50.0 to 75.0% of SiO2; 7.5 to 25.0% of Al2O3; 0 to 25.0% of B2O3; 6.5 to 20.0% of Li2O; 1.5 to 10.0% of Na2O; 0 to 4.0% of K2O; 1.0 to 20.0% of MgO; one or more components selected from MgO, CaO, SrO, and BaO in a total amount of 1.0 to 20.0%; and 0 to 5.0% of TiO2, in which a value of Y calculated based on the following formula is 19.5 or less, Y=1.2×([MgO]+[CaO]+[SrO]+[BaO])+1.6×([Li2O]+[Na2O]+[K2O]), provided that [MgO], [CaO], [SrO], [BaO], [Li2O], [Na2O], and [K2O] are contents, in terms of mole percentage based on oxides, of components of MgO, CaO, SrO, BaO, Li2O, Na2O, and K2O respectively.
